During his regular Question of the Hour segment on Mondays Situation Room, CNN commentator Jack Cafferty compared House Speaker Nancy Pelosis idea to spend hundred of millions of dollars on contraception as a cost-reducing measure to the oppressive birth control policies of the Chinese Communists under Mao: What exactly did she mean? Are the millions of dollars for contraception supposed to stop people from having babies? [Thats] starting to sound a little like Chairman Mao.
The commentator began his 5 pm Eastern hour Cafferty File segment by describing President Obamas proposed stimulus package, and how this past weekend, lawmakers were out on their soap boxes. Democrats were selling the plan. Republicans were pointing out problems with the plan. He then addressed Speaker Pelosis comments to George Stephanopoulos on This Week: On ABC, the House speaker, Nancy Pelosi, defended hundreds of millions of dollars in the stimulus package earmarked for contraception. She said family planning reduces costs and explained that the stimulus plan includes assistance to states, and part of that includes childrens health and education. That includes contraception, which Pelosi said will, reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.

Jack offers a brief moment of sobriety.
It’s getting harder and harder for the administration to throw supporters under the bus, now that the wheels are coming off...
He is still an idiot!
Cafferty may be a liberal, but definitely will pound on libs when they get too extreme.
He is also anti-illegal alien...something unusual in lefties. It will kill his chances to be hired at MSNBC, if that should ever happen
I am surprised that a CNN host said that. He does have a good point though. It is good though, that the contraception part of the “stimulus package” is supposedly to be excised from the packaage.
Would’ve thought Cafferty was a fan of Chairman Mao?
(Probably too drunk to know what he was saying.)
To the extent that the contraception contributes to a shortage of future workers, it hardly reduces costs. It results in an influx of illegal aliens, and we all know who pays for their health care.
Gee, this is probably the first thing I have agreed with Jack on.
*(12 hour) clock rings, twice a day....(24 hour) clock, once a day* BUMP
But Mao was cuter.
Cafferty is showing what an idiot he is, because Mao actually encouraged reproduction. The one child policy was only introduced under Mao’s successors (Deng Xiaoping, i believe). Anyways, at least he’s attacking one of his fellow idiot leftists, Pelosi, for once.
I’m bet Pelosi didn’t realize the import of what she is saying. It’s a left wing cliche that social programs reduce government costs even though they never do.
Left wingers do believe there are too many people and that the world would be better off with a lot less - starting with us. =)
Telling liberals Pelosi is like Mao, is like giving her a compliment. Call her Nazi Pelosi, and duck before the insults get hurled, even though there isn’t a spit’s bit of difference in the outcome.
Pelosi is actually much more similar to Mao’s wife, Jiang Qing.
This is the first logical statement I’ve ever heard from this a$$hat.

"From May 1966, student members of the Communist Party were encouraged to carry copies of Mao's Little Red Book of quotations. Acting under Mao's leadership, these "Red Guards" used his quotations in their mission to weed out intellectuals. With themes such as Correcting Mistaken Ideas and All Reactionaries are Paper Tigers, the quotations became the standard by which all revolutionary efforts were judged."
