MEDIA ADVISORY, Jan. 27 /Christian Newswire/ -- Radio host and bestselling author Gregg Jackson and a growing list of other conservative leaders, lawyers and activists are calling on Eagle Publishing to dismiss editor Jed Babbin and take immediate and decisive steps to restore the credibility of Human Events. Among the names widely known in social conservative and pro-life circles are Dr. Ted Baehr, President of Movieguide; Ambassador Alan Keyes, former Reagan appointee and presidential candidate; Dr. William Greene of RightMarch.com; Coach Dave Daubenmire, talk show host and author; and Brian Rohrbough, President of American Right to Life.
The editor of what was Ronald Reagan's favorite conservative weekly, Human Events, Babbin only recently admitted in an explosive radio interview that Mitt Romney illegally instituted same-sex "marriage" and $50 government-funded abortions. He now claims that Human Events faithfully reported these facts to their readers, but when asked to support that erroneous claim by citing specific articles in the four years since Romney's illegal orders went into effect, Babbin angrily professed not to remember and abruptly hung up, ending the interview.
Listen to Jackson's revealing 12-minute interview with Babbin here! Jackson/Babbin Interview
On numerous occasions, Jackson and others had gone to great lengths to share Romney's far left wing record with Babbin and other writers at Human Events such as Ann Coulter, David Limbaugh and John Gizzi, but they all chose to suppress Romney's radical record in Massachusetts and in doing so deceived countless conservative readers.
Also in this interview with Jackson, Babbin adamantly asserted:
* that the unalienable right to life is no more important or fundamental than the freedom of speech or the right to vote--a statement that is not merely illogical, but is an accidental admission that he is not pro-life in any meaningful sense
* that America's founding national charter, the Declaration of Independence, is not part of the Organic Law of the United States of America--despite the fact that the U.S. Code (section XXXVII - LXVII, "Organic Laws of the United States of America" ) says explicitly that it is, and despite the fact that the Supreme Court has repeatedly stated that it is (astonishingly, Babbin is a lawyer)
* that the candidate whom Human Events endorsed for President, Fred Thompson, whom Babbin claims is "solidly pro-life," had "no choice" as a lawyer other than to represent the nation's largest abortion provider: Planned Parenthood
* that despite John McCain's support for taxpayer funding for both embryonic stem cell research and Planned Parenthood; despite his belief that babies in the womb do not possess a God-given unalienable right to life that no state may violate; and despite his opposition to a Human Life Amendment--the core plank of the Republican Party--McCain too is "solidly pro-life"
"For years conservatives trusted Human Events as a source of truth about what is happening in American politics," Jackson said. "Babbin's embarrassing and revealing statements in this very revealing interview are only the most recent indication of an ongoing purge of real conservatives and their replacement by social liberals posing as the heirs of the Reagan revolution," Jackson continued.
"As people listen to this interview, we expect awareness of the sad state of Human Events to spread through the grassroots just as the facts about Mitt Romney did, despite a concerted effort by Human Events and many supposed 'conservatives' to suppress it," said John Haskins of www.UndergroundJournal.net. "Eagle Publishing may well be too scornful of the intelligence of their own readers and too stubborn to dismiss Jed Babbin as the counterfeit conservative he revealed himself to be. But they face a continued loss of credibility which can only lead, ultimately, to the death of the publication."

Nice job at lining up the circular firing squad.
Instead of practicing the politics of division and subtraction, we should be engaging the politics of addition and multiplication.
Jeb Babbin is a good conservative and simply because you disagree with some of his characterizations and comments is no reason to flail him. You only expose your own intolerance and rigidness with such silliness.
I suggest, since the New York Times engages in 100X the wrong characterizations every day, that you go after THEM instead.
... or is the idea of actually attacking LIBERALS instead of other conservatives foreign to you?
Correct. The fascist Romney micturates on all Constitution when it pleases him.
"While former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney claims he did everything possible to throttle homosexual marriage in his state his campaign now saying he took "every conceivable step within the law to defend traditional marriage" several constitutional experts say that just isn't so.
"What Romney did [was] he exercised illegal legislative authority," Herb Titus said of the governor's actions after the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court released its opinion in the Goodridge case in 2003. "He was bound by what? There was no order. There wasn't even any order to the Department of Public Health to do anything."
Titus, a Harvard law graduate, was founding dean of Pat Robertson's Regent University Law School. He also worked with former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore, ...
Romney's aides have told WND that after four of the seven court members reinterpreted the definition of marriage, he believed he had no choice but to direct clerks and others to change state marriage forms and begin registering same-sex couples.
Some opponents contend that with those actions, Romney did no more or less than create the first homosexual marriages recognized in the nation. And Titus agrees."
"....But the court's decision conflicts with the constitutional philosophy of three co-equal branches of government: executive, legislative and judicial, Titus said. It also violates with the Massachusetts Constitution, which states: "The power of suspending the laws, or (suspending) the execution of the laws, ought never to be exercised but by the legislature..."
And it cannot even be derived from the opinion itself, asserts the pro-family activist group Mass Resistance, which says the decision did four things:
* First, it acknowledged that the current law does not permit same-sex marriage.
"The only reasonable explanation is that the Legislature did not intend that same-sex couples be licensed to marry. We conclude, as did the judge, that G.L. c. 207 may not be construed to permit same-sex couples to marry."
* Second, it said it is NOT striking down the marriage laws (among other things, the Massachusetts Constitution forbids a court to change laws)
"Here, no one argues that striking down the marriage laws is an appropriate form of relief."
* Third, it declared that not allowing same-sex marriages is a violation of the Massachusetts Constitution.
"We declare that barring an individual from the protections, benefits, and obligations of civil marriage solely because that person would marry a person of the same sex violates the Massachusetts Constitution."
* And fourth, given that the court is not changing any laws, the SJC gave the Legislature 180 days to "take such action as it may deem appropriate."
"We vacate the summary judgment for the department. We remand this case to the Superior Court for entry of judgment consistent with this opinion. Entry of judgment shall be stayed for 180 days to permit the Legislature to take such action as it may deem appropriate in light of this opinion."
After the Legislature did nothing during the 180 days, Romney then took action "on his own," the group said.
"Gov. Romney's legal counsel issued a directive to the Justices of the Peace that they must perform same-sex marriages when requested or 'face personal liability' or be fired," the group said."
“They have been pretty much useless in the battles of the last two years. “
As compared to these nonames on this list who have done nothing of note to stop the steamroller of liberalism.
Are the signers of this list going to stop Obama’s stimulus bill?!?!? hmmmm?!?!? If not, this is a tempest in a teacup.
“This is exactly the season to go RiNO-hunting.”
Calling Jed Babbin a RINO is idiotic.
“a Red Diaper socialist in the White House, with Weathermen in his kitchen cabinet.”
That is the threat we face now, and now is the time to face it.
I see him as the ‘default’ candidate. Nobody compromised, if they had he wouldn’t have had a chance, given he already had run a horrible national campaign in the primaries in 2000, and had spent the previous seven years blaming everybody but himself for it.
Romney’s pathological RINOs threw Election2008
because they backstabbed American patriots and conservatives.
It is time for them to go.
Good grief. This is absurd.
Jed Babbin fought tooth and nail to keep Obama out of the White House. He’s been there for conservatives on illegal immigration, the bailout and countless other times. He’s a strong conservative and a very bright guy.
I’d rather have him watching my back any day than Alan Keyes.
You are the one supporting it. I guess it worked out great for you huh? Real conservatives aren't so happy.
Reread slowly is my best advice.
Well, you’ll get what you deserve, then. It is apparent from listening to various interveiws of Babbin that he has no understanding of the basis of conservatism or our free republic.
Yes, you wouldn't want to risk thinking for yourself.
It doesn’t matter what the NY Times says. What is truly important is for conservatives get their own house in order.
“solely responsible”? Never mind that Mass supreme court Goodrich decision that Romney immediately condemned. Never mind the legislature undercutting Romney’s attempt to get a constitutional amendment or the Democrat AG backstabbing him when he wanted a stay of the order. Never mind that, Romney dared to obey a lawful order of the supreme court and that makes him ‘solely responsible’ and EV will damn well rewrite history if need be to make his point. Romney, the dictator of Massachusetts, was ‘solely responsible’ even though he was opposed 100% throughout. It is sad that EV has to tell falsehoods to make his case.
Further sad that energy that should be devoted to making conservative arguments and defeating liberal agendas - like Obama’s abortion decisions, the boondoggle stimulus, wrong way on gitmo, etc - is instead diverted in the pointless infighting against a conservative editor whose only real crime is not agreeing 100% with some pointy-headed extremists on some obscure points.
I regret voting for Keyes. I should have voted for Romney, to at least send a message to the extremists to stop being buttheaded fools and get real. Their excessive and misdirected zeal is harmful to the very cause they hope to serve.
Agreed. This is tilting against windmills. The election is over; Romney is not a factor. McCain was the nominee, and lost as expected.
Now is the time to build coalitions against the people who control the entire federal government, rather that fight among ourselves.
Romney wasnt even the nominee. You stopped him, remember?
And Obama’s 63 million votes sure didnt come from Utah!
“It is time for them to go.” Where?
Sounds like a pretty standard attack from the Left.
It's tolerance of liberalism, and squishiness on core principles, that is at the heart of what is wrong with our country. If supposed conservative "leaders" have spines of jelly, what do you suppose is going to happen to those who follow them?
Here's a hint: Take a close look at the fruit of the last two years.
The mind boggles at the narrow-minded myopia of this statement.
The NYT is now the media mouthpiece of the Liberal Elite order. That power now controls DC almost 100%. what they say is where the Liberals want to take the USA. And its not pretty. The NYT is about 1,000 times more influential than Human Events.
Meanwhile, you argue about the color of the deckchairs on the Titanic. (shakes head and walks away in amazed disappoinment)
Romney has pretty much bought off the RNC and its satellite organizations.
Any “coalitions” you build in support of the GOP are now going to be used to empower him and his hacks.
Don’t say you weren’t warned.
Gosh. Why do I feel like I'm talking to a Democrat?
Nice of you to intentionally miss the entire point.
But, for our readers, I'll reiterate: If the conservative movement doesn't get its priorities straight, pronto, it won't matter what the NY Times or anyone else says or does, since the Left will have no real opposition.
I'm doing no such thing. I'm warning those aboard to get themselves into the lifeboats.
