NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- President Barack Obama said in an interview with Al-Arabiya television news that the U.S. isn't an enemy of the Muslim world. Obama told the Dubai-based network that he had Muslim relatives and that he lived in the Muslim-majority nation of Indonesia for several years.

Here it comes...the whole flippin’ reason why the brain trusts wanted O upfront. Won’t work. Islamic extremists kill each other in a heartbeat and they eat leftists for a mid-afternoon snack.They think they will reach the moderates through Obama...hahaha. The only reason why we have gained any of their trust is because we have kicked butt. Once that stops...the trust is over.
Remember, GWB also stated publically that the US was not the enemy of the Muslim community, but the terrorists that subvert Islam were our enemies.
Now that Obama says it, it will be true, warm, loving and accepted, whereas when GWB said it, it was obviously a statement made for political purposes.

Speaking to journalists after a closed seminar on defence and foreign affairs policy, Mr Key tried to put to bed the nuclear issue, which has troubled National in the past. Some in National believe New Zealand should try and revive the ANZUS treaty which cemented New Zealand defence ties with both Australia and the United States. It has been on the shelf for 20 years since Labour passed the anti-nuclear legislation and some in National have argued to scrap the law in order to rebuild the alliance.
