Remember, GWB also stated publically that the US was not the enemy of the Muslim community, but the terrorists that subvert Islam were our enemies.
Now that Obama says it, it will be true, warm, loving and accepted, whereas when GWB said it, it was obviously a statement made for political purposes.

Key supports no nukes law.
By IAN LLEWELLYN
National Party leader John Key says there will be no nuclear powered ships entering New Zealand’s harbours as long as he leads the party and he accepts the ANZUS treaty is dead. Speaking to journalists after a closed seminar on defence and foreign affairs policy, Mr Key tried to put to bed the nuclear issue, which has troubled National in the past. Some in National believe New Zealand should try and revive the ANZUS treaty which cemented New Zealand defence ties with both Australia and the United States. It has been on the shelf for 20 years since Labour passed the anti-nuclear legislation and some in National have argued to scrap the law in order to rebuild the alliance.

Bush: All religions pray to 'same God'
President George Bush has repeated his belief all religions, "whether they be Muslim, Christian, or any other religion, prays to the same God" an assertion that caused outrage among evangelical leaders when he said it in November 2003. Bush made the statement Friday in an interview with Al Arabiya reporter Elie Nakouzi.

I love it here. Originally from Vancouver Canada, never going back (I’m a Kiwi now).
Recommend you come here on a visit first, see if you like it — the pace is alot more laid-back than the US. It is midsummer now. Weather is much like LA in that it never snows in Auckland. It gets hotter as you go north, and colder as you go south (appreciable temperature changes every 100 km or so.)
Drop me a FReepmail with any questions you have.
