Obama's 'Blue Wall' Locks in Democratic Gains
NewsMax ^ | 1/25/2009 | David A. Patten

Led by President Obama, Democrats are leveraging the nation’s economic crisis and the aura of inaugural goodwill to build a “blue political wall” — new constituencies dependent on expanding government programs — that could lock in 2008 Democratic political gains for decades to come.

Unless Republicans act to counter those initiatives, pundits and pollsters warn, they could find themselves on an extended vacation from power in Washington.

The combination of former Rep. Rahm Emanuel, described by former Bush adviser Karl Rove as a “sharp-edged partisan,” and President Obama’s strategic mindset, could spell big trouble for Republicans hoping to return to the majority.

Shortly after being appointed Obama’s chief of staff, Emanuel declared at an executive forum: “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think that could not do before.”

I want to know who assigned blue to these socialist liberals. This is pretty interesting that we always associated red with communism then all of a sudden one year its red and blue states and the folks who believed in a republic were colored red. How convenient.

Democrats and academics have been telling us for the last eight years that this democracy thing is overrated. Now they are just carrying out their alternative plans. A one party system is first up and then they will aggressively deal with dissent.

The answer, in one word, is the MSM who in 2000 apparently all agreed to that scheme on their election maps. Now everyone, including our side, is using that convention, even though, as we well know, it's more accurate the other way.

No way the 'Rats can inprove their popularity without a significant economic improvement, and it's obvious that the O policies aren't designed to do that.

So all this other garbage won't mean very much unless the economy gets better because of other factors.

Americans are buying lots of guns and ammo... and survival stores. If what you say happens does... we will rebuild a Nation around the Founder's original intent.

Our Military will hold a coup to restore the Constitution before that happens... they will not stand for tyranny any more than the Soviet Army did with gorby... but still millions prepare for the worst case.

Frankly, and sadly.....I'm not sure that would be something...I'd hang my hat on.

“Our Military will hold a coup to restore the Constitution before that happens....”

It’s not going to look good for the democrats when they bankrupt the treasury with their stupid spending. They will bring down the government in record time with their filthy greed.

With OUR tax dollars, Obama can buy a permanent majority. Welfare for blacks, welfare and open borders for Hispanics, government favors and protections for unions, welfare for women (the panicky Mommy party), big government for bureaucrats. And of course, the ultimate Democratic bailout, free health care for everyone.

The deluded and scared “pay for play” voters are soaring in numbers. They will easily outvote the taxpayer, the officer and the shrinking legions of devout churchgoers.

The suicide of the West is nigh.

you are of course assuming that the spigot from whence they get the largesse will always flow.

So...

What happens if aforementioned taxpayers simply don't pay,

En masse?

Who then gets paid in the government dole, and with what?

Sounds like a swell plan.

Karl Rove also had plans, that worked out great.

If it truly gets to that point... I have no doubt. It would have to get to “that” point however... and barry is just the boy to get us to that point... a marxist muzzie with sharia on his mind. This is a disaster in the making. catah was a piker compared to this Antichrist.

It's now clear that they can't stop spending, and that many major political jurisdictions, including California, NY, Illinois, NJ and Massachusetts are insolvent and will default.

Act accordingly.

Emanuel's in the grip of the same delusion that Rove was in December 2004. Policy is bigger than politics, and events put a beating on ideology like a red-haired step-child.

However, Obama might have the advantage that some of his supposed "wall builders" are actually things that are popular -- like better access to health care -- and not things like privatizing social security or eliminating estate taxes -- the former being known for decades as the untouchable third rail, and the latter mathematically certain only to appeal to 1% or 2% of the population.

If the taxpayers go on strike, the government will arrest them for tax evasion and nationalize any businesses or businessmen refusing to pay taxes.

Look at health insurance companies. They can’t do business in many places because government mandates make it too costly. So government steps in to solve the problem it created. That is exactly what Obama is planning to do with his crypto-socialist health care plan.
