Kill the entire "stimulus" crap! Republicans need to block and obstruct anything coming from the 'rats. There is no bipartisanship. It's just another word of Republicans rolling over for 'rats. Enough of that.

Let's see whether Nutsy Peloser can whip up enough part unity.

While the plan can potentially pass the Democrat-dominated House without Republican support, it will continue to face opposition when it comes before the Senate, said Senator John McCain of Arizona, speaking on "Fox News Sunday." At least two Republicans will need to approve the bill for a filibuster-proof majority vote of 60.

I guess that the Republicans support the plan, but simply do not approve of its provisions or content or think that its intended result will work.

If they had any sense, they would all vote against it. Unfortunately, there are certain to be two (or more) “Republican” Senators, who will go along.

I think these RINO’s are beginning to see the light. That they will be voted out, we have had more than enough of this crap. Every Republican should vote NO and I mean every single one of them(of course I know they won't). If they did the dems voting on it would be like dominoes. They don't want to shoulder this monstrosity alone. I say let ‘em. Republican take it all back in 4 years.

“I don’t get what Republicans would gain politically by going with Obama on anything.”

I have not met a single person that isn’t angry about the last bailout. They want to know where THAT money went.

If the Reps stand firm in their opposition to the “stimulus” package, they will earn a few points with the public.

How is it that “earmarks” were talked about (negatively) so much during the election, but we now have the largest pork barrel spending plan ever, and it’s supposed to be a good thing?

I don’t think they’re seeing any light. They’re grandstanding, just like a few of them did on Hillary’s confirmation. Then McCain talked to them, and all was well. That was all it took, a little conversation with the chief backstabber. Real pillars of granite, those Republicans.

Let’s be honest......Republicans are good fighters only in losing situations. Losing is what they are good at, so it’s no surprise they buck-up and fight when faced with improbable odds much like the stimulus plan which will pass regradless of Republican support.. Conversely, when Republicans find themselves in situations where their fierce fight can lead to victory, they go soft, wither, and bow to compromise.

Our current crop of Republicans are a sorry lot.

Should read: “regardless of Republican OPPOSITION.”

The bill has millions for contaceptives and another #400 million for National Public Radio. Where is the stimulus in this (other than the contraceptives, of course!) We the taxpayer are getting screwed again.

Uh, it's not just Republicans. Yahoo has a poll going right now:

Q. President Obama is pushing lawmakers to quickly approve a massive economic stimulus designed in part to create 3 to 4 million new jobs and provide tax breaks to businesses and individuals ($500 for most individual workers and $1,000 for couples). Critics from both parties say the $825 billion package is too costly and won't give a boost quickly enough. Obama says he's trying to incorporate the criticism but stay on target for a Feb. 16th approval.

Do you support the stimulus plan?

Yes. It will give us the help we badly need. 28%
Somewhat. It's not perfect but it's something. 17%
No. It's expensive and won't fix anything. 52%
I'm not sure/No opinion. 3%

30145 votes

With a numerically insignificant handfull as an exception, Republicans are spineless cowards. They will do what ever Obama wants and afterwrds declare “THANK YOU SIR MAY I HAVE ANOTHER!”

CALL YOUR SENATOR NOW. 202-224-3121.

America is on the line here. We need every single Republican to vote NO on the trillion dollar boondoggle. And call the Democrat senators as well, to say that you oppose the bill.
