Where do we put the Gitmo detainees?
Press-Telegram ^ | January 25, 2009 | Russ Hoekman

Where do we put the Gitmo detainees? I have four suggestions:

By Raffle: Write all the cities' names that had 90 percent or more votes for Obama on pieces of paper. Put them in a hat, and let President Obama pick the winner.

Washington, D.C.: With three electoral votes, it had the highest percentage (93 percent) of votes for Obama.

Hawaii: It had the highest state percentage (72 percent) of votes for Obama. It is the birthplace of our president. It is not part of the continental U.S. In fact, the island of Niihau, or "the Forbidden Isle," would be an ideal choice. It is off-limits to the general public, but not the Navy or government officials.

Iraq: Let the courts that tried Saddam Hussein deal with the suspected terrorists.

I vote for the White House. It’s well guarded, hard to get into and out of, and then Obammy can have them over for tea and good conversation (without preconditions) any time he likes.

“McCain has eight houses. Let him house them.”

Why not let them move in with Martin Sheen, Susan Sarandon, Roseanne Barr, Sean Penn, George Clooney, Robert Redford, Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Govi, Chris Rock, Spike Lee, Nancy Peloisi. John Murtha wants them in his district. Or else they could all move to Chicago and become community organizers.

Water-board them in the field and then shoot them.

But that won’t happen because our soldiers know we’d prosecute them. Even under GWB we railroaded our men. Under zero .....

There’s no way we’ll meet our recruitment targets now. No way.

Governor Sebelius (D-KS)is still trying to catch Obama’s eye so she’s started making noises that she wouldn’t really oppose moving Gitmo to Leavenworth. She’s so desperate to get out of the state before her electric rate increases kick in that she’ll offer anything.

The other day Bill Oreilly said,

“We can’t put them in American prisons, the other prisoners would kill them”.

I think it sounds like the perfect solution!

Martha's Vineyard. It's perfect.

Or, if we can't upset the limousine liberals like that, a win-win would be to relocate them to one of those wild game ranches in Texas. Save wild animals from being killed, and still keep the hunter lobby happy.

Here is a good place to send the terrorists.

It's a large, vacant mansion in Chicago where the government is already installing the tightest security possible.

Also, a known Chicago mobster owns the place next door and there are already a lot of muslims and their enablers in the area, so it won't affect the character of neighborhood that much.

Where do we put the Gitmo detainees?

The supermax United States Penitentiary in Marion, Illinois which was built to replace Alcatraz.
Let Illinois reap the benefit of their favorite son.

I propose a simple solution which, unfortunately, requires Congress to act. I suggest Congress pass a law requiring the Bureau of Prisons to accept prisoners on a schedule developed by the Commander of the prison at Guantanomo Bay. The Bureau of Prisons would have five days...since the prison at Gitmo and the Bureau of Prisons are 24/7 operations, five days will mean five calendar days...to take custody of the prisoners and to fly them to an airport near their destination and place them into the prison.

The law would also require the prisoners be apportioned among the states and the District of Columbia based upon the number of electoral votes. For example, the federal prison in the District of Columbia would receive 3 prisoners for every 535 prisoners in Gitmo. If there is not federal prison in a state, that state will be assessed the cost of housing that state's prisoners in another state if another state is willing to house them. If no other state is willing to house them, the Bureau of Prisons will deliver those prisoners to the state prison system and will require the state to determine where to house those prisoners.

I cannot wait to hear the Massghanistani beautiful people moaning and groaning about the thugs being housed on Devens only minutes from Haaaarvaaard...the home of the enlightened ones.

I’d suggest northernmost Alaska, but these scum shouldn’t be allowed within 500 miles of Sarah Palin.
