0bama got the "Catholic" vote in the USA by running on a pro-abortion record. He made no secret of this. I don't see how is picking a fight with the Vatican will estrange him from US "Catholics" as that group is already estranged from the Vatican as it stands now.

Local parish had cards in the pews to mail to Congress about FOCA. Also, a bulletin insert explaining what it is. Bad thing was that no one spoke about it.

Actually, he is incorrect. Although Obama is arrogant, this isn't one of those points of his arrogance. I can state that because when Obama was interviewed by Rick Warren at Saddleback he said that knowing when life began was above his paygrade...so Obama doesn't assume he's right, he simply claims he doesn't know. Therefore, his adamant support for abortion even when he denies knowing when life begins is EVIL, not arrogance.
