This is what conservatives should be doing and supporting, NOT running around urging others to "fully support" Obama implementing his socialist, anti-American policies that ARE clear and present danger to our very survival.

Obamanation “won” with a highly dishonest campaign as a “centrist” -— now as he lurches back to the left, his true socialist home, Rs have every right and indeed obligation to call him out on his frauds and lies.

Texas Sen. John Cornyn is leading an early charge against President Barack Obama, seeking to blunt the new administration's momentum in Congress while lighting the way for a GOP comeback in the next election.

About damn time someone in Congress woke up. Hopefully he will be able to get the rest of the Republicans in the Senate to see the light. Now if we just had someone with punch in the House that will do the same thing.

Conservatism wins every time it is tried. We will make a comeback in 2010 if we stick with Conservative Principals.

All True Republicans and Conservatives should fight Obama on all Fronts. Let the Economy spiral into Depression, let America’s Foreign Policy fail, let the Terrorists attack. Once the disaster Obama has brought is apparent to all, then the American populace will recognize the Commie Democrats for the fraudulent failure they are.

Didn’t he vote to confirm Hillary?

Would be pleased if this is not true. Disappointed if it is true.

He’s my Senator, and I have to say, of late, I’ve been less than impressed.

He voted for the bailout, in spite of calls (when you can get through, which is damn near impossible) and faxes (like mine) warning him not to. Then he sent us all a whiny letter explaining why he “didn’t want to, but he had to”. Bull. NOT voting for that garbage would be conservative leadership with SUBSTANCE.

Next, he opposes a voice vote to approve Hillary Clinton — the lone senator to do so. Then he turns around and votes for that corrupt b!tch as SoS of our great country. Guess we’ll get another email or letter that said he didn’t want to but had to.

This article seems to confirm that he’s more appearance than substance. Got a “commitment” from Hildog to be forthcoming on her donors. We all know what Clintoon “commitments” are worth.

He’s put a hold on Holder for AG. What does he expect in return? No prosecutions of Bush’s people. THAT’S ALL. That’s not enough, John. Holder is pure leftwing evil. He ought not to get the office. He will, but Cornyn should go down fighting, not give in and vote for him.

The last P of the article is the meat:

“Larry Hufford, a political scientist at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, said Cornyn’s high-profile challenge to Clinton’s confirmation will please many conservative Republican donors...Cornyn, a master fundraiser who spent at least $28.5 million on his two Senate races in Texas, stands to gain political IOUs from his colleagues and a network of donor contacts as he heads the campaign committee.”

It’s all about the money and political IOUs... not about making a strong stand.

Don’t get me wrong, I would be more than happy to eat my words if Senator Cornyn really stiffens his spine and fights Obama’s socialist agenda. But I’m afraid I won’t have to, based on Cornyn’s past performance.

Unfortunately, this article writes of a political pipe dream as that there very few patriotic conservatives left roaming the hall of Congress. Spineless RINO's are the status quo for what we once referred to as the Republican Party.

We should all realize the glitter that has been added since last November to the Capitol Hill Dog and Pony Show.

I would venture to say 85% of the Congress critters are only concerned with image, re-election and stuffing their re-election war chests with money from lobbyists.

The message that the American people are sending us now is that they want us to work together and get to work.”

Oh really McCain. The message I am hearing is that people want you to STOP spending money like a bunch of drunken sailors.

If Republicans want to fire up the rank and file, they need to expel McCain.

The Republican Party desperately needs to win back the House of Representatives in 2010 and it can be done. Unseat the “Blue Dogs” and the House becomes Republican.

Cornyn will be a hero if he continues to challenge what the Demonrats are about to do to this country. We need brave souls like him to stand up to the lunacy and no matter the costs to have courage under fire. There is nothing more for the GOP to lose. It is the right thing to do and a light needs to be shone on the roaches that are the DNC and expose the disease they are to this country.

Good grief! After reading the first fifty posts, I am pissed to say the least. Instead of encouraging Sen. Cornyn in order to get others to follow suit, many are bent on doing the Democrats work by discouraging him. We don’t need a conservative litmus test for someone to oppose Obama. We need every willing and available man and woman. Get your heads out of your asses.

Don't we have anybody that isn't an old white guy?

They really suck at combating black socialists.

Given that Cornyn has no chance of prevailing, what with other "Republicans" such as McCain, Snowe, Collins, and Lindsay Graham ready to do Zero's bidding, the question becomes,

"Is Cornyn doing this just to advance his own political career, his own standing as a conservative?"
