If the usurper stays it will be far far worse. Bank on it. say goodbye to America. Repubs win in 2010 - not when ACORN has billions. SCOTUS deals with the usurper now or there will be nothing left in a few years or less.

Ideologically, I agree with you. We are eithere a nations of laws and not men, or we aren’t. However, even the most passionate, ardent lawyer will tell you that, sometimes, doing the right thing in the law is the wrong thing. And I believe that this is going to be one of those times.

I think there are other factors in play that we need to examine before going off the deep end and deciding that America is toast. First, there is the fact that Obama set expectations so incredibly high, there is no way he can deliver. IOW, he has over-promised and will under-perform. Secondly, we have to look at the fact that his approval rate is slipping after less than 2 weeks on the job as more and more people begin to realize we elected an inexperienced amateur to be the President-in-training (PIT).

It isn’t just Republicans who are unhappy with him, some on the left are also beginning to grumble because they believed all the pretty lies he told during the campaign. When we look at the fact that by this time next year, America will be MUCH worse off economically than it is today, how happy do you think people will be when they see that for all the so-called “stimulus” money he has gotten Congress to throw at this problem, the economy will still be in the tank?? When their job is gone, it doesn’t matter how “popular” obi wa nobama is, all his popularity won’t put food on their table, pay the rent or put clothes on their backs.

The Republicans are disorganized and chaotic, right now. All they can do is sit back and wait for enough people to become angry that the Democrat-controlled Congress and Democrat-controlled WH can’t do the things they claimed they could. That kind of attitude among swing voters (in particular) will push more of them back to the Republican Party in 2010 to re-take the Congress. But it won’t be the result of anything the Republicans did, it will be the result of things the Democrats DIDN’T do, like be able to live up to their promises.

So, as frustrating as his lack of eligibility is and his blatant inexperience is, I’m becoming optimistic that when his “honeymoon” period is over, he may well be on his way to becoming the most UNpopular president EVER!!! I’m also becoming optimistic that by the mid-term elections, he may find it too dangerous to step outside the WH to support other Dems up for re-election. The more he does dumb things like tell the Republicans that they can’t listen to Rush Limbaugh and be part of the game; or tell Washington, D.C. residents that they need to toughen up like they are in Chicago and not let a couple of inches of snow or ice shut the city down, the more he alienates the people who voted for him. When he walks around the WH in shirsleeves because he cranked the thermostat up due to the fact that he hates the cold, all the while telling the rest of America that they have to learn how to live with the thermostat turned down, wearing sweaters or jackets indoors so they can conserve energy, the more he alienates the people he needs. He isn’t a smart guy and I’m not convinced that he will be able to pull off a lot of the things he thinks he will.

So, give things a chance. There may be worse consequences on the horizon for the Obamessiah by letting this issue go and allowing him to continue to make incredibly stupid mistakes by saying incredibly stupid things.
