Beg to differ: Rush is great and he influences people who listen (operative phrase there), but he cannot prevent legislation from being passed that makes a citizen an overnight criminal from where he is. He has no veto power. Maybe from the perspective of getting people to call their Reps and Senators, yes, but if you believe that THAT will do any good right now...
I think all of us, out here, better understand the ramifications of OUR people NOT getting involved in political offices; we are effectively neutered.
They can pass legislation criminalizing ordinary folks, and we have NO ONE to stand against it. We need Judges, Reps, Senators, all ALL levels that will NOT cave in, that will NOT compromise, that will NOT “reach across the aisle”.
Tell me - HOW many Dems “reached across the aisle” for Bush throughout the years 2001-2005 when they were in the minority? They banded together, hunkered down, and basically obstinated and obfuscated everything Bush tried to get done - except the things that directly benefited their commie agenda. And all the while they were targeting SPECIFIC Senators and Reps on our side for removal (think Santorum) or smearing (think Craig) in the 2006 election cycle, and were successful.
How does our side stack up against that? How many of our guys will go toe-to-toe with that??
We NEED people like Limbaugh and Coulter who UNDERSTAND the nature of the enemy and are not afraid to get in their faces - yes, they have a bullypulpit, but it is effectively useless when it comes to the exercise of real power - and THAT is what the other side is all about - POWER - and now controls.
They HATE the fact that you own guns because it weakens THEIR power...so they’ll make laws against you and use “Officer Friendly” to do their dirty work, relying on our respect for the law for us to comply (to a degree - and they are LOSING that compliance day by day). Failing that, they will send the military against the citizens to slaughter us into obedience or oblivion.
They HATE the fact that you own property and wealth because it weakens THEIR power...so they’ll make laws against your property and find ways to deprive you of it, to the extent that you will be penniless, homeless, and what wages you still make garnished.
They HATE the fact that you believe in God because it weakens THEIR power...so they make laws to remove His name and influence from our institutions - if God is “dead”, then all things are permissible - rape, murder, etc.
They HATE the fact that Rush shines a flashlight on them and makes us LAUGH at them, because it weakens their power.
During WWII, a potent weapon (other than our Garands, BARs, Thompsons, etc) was our LAUGHTER; face it, Adolf, Tojo and Mussolini looked STUPID standing there screeching at the Volk...however, their followers were DEADLY serious.
It’s all about them, and they crave the ability to force their narcissism on us.
Remember that wonderful little quote when Klintoon was elected, and a flight of F18s flew over? “What, you mean they’re OURS now?” I think it was actor Ron Silver who said that...
Surely we have folks out here with the necessary political savvy and legal understanding and skills to thwart the subversives? Surely our side is not bereft of political talent?
I understand that the other side crawls and worms their way towards the positions they crave, selling their souls to be where they are. Our side IS different; we ARE “The Good Guys”. But we’re bringing baseball CARDS to a gunfight with the GOP that we have now - spineless weasel RINOs ready to sell us down the drain just so they can keep their jobs.
Sarah stepped up...it seems our best man was a woman (no slight there - she’s awesome)...and she got SAVAGED, and “Gentleman Johnny” did NOTHING to defend her. Would the Dems do that to one of theirs? I think not.
So until OUR people, with OUR mentality get into the political “game” and push or defend OUR values FEROCIOUSLY and with all the contempt and passion we can muster against the other side, until we are ready, willing, and able to throw ten thousand protesting Patriots into the streets at a few hours’ notice to support our causes, until we can get an equal shot at the editorial pages of newspapers and cable news shows, well, then we are moving ever and ever closer to a really horrible collision. And it may already be on us.
It ain’t about “compassionate conservativism”; it’s about Passionate American Patriotism and National Self-Defense for the survival of all that we hold dear.
