McCain Now Obama's No. 1 Senate Ally

GOP Sen. John McCain is positioning himself to be one of President Barack Obama’s strongest supporters, effectively giving Democrats the votes they need to override any GOP attempt to block the new administration’s legislative agenda.

Obama heaped warm praise on his GOP rival during a dinner held in McCain’s honor the day before the inauguration, calling him a hero.

Insiders duly noted McCain was granted a prime spot on the dais at the inauguration, sandwiched in a seat between White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

The day after the inauguration, Obama and McCain spoke again at the National Prayer breakfast.

It was all part of Obama’s ongoing charm offensive to woo those on the other side of the aisle. The effort was apparently well received by the maverick senator from Arizona, who throughout his career has shown a proclivity for teaming up with Democrats on legislation.

Now is time to clean house. Goodbye to all in GOP that stated “I will vote for Dems if I don’t get my way” Since they have no bargaining position because it’s a lost argument, I say goodbye. Goodbye to all the CINO go join the Dems.

That picture is inaccurate. McCain stabs the GOP in the front.

....people in AZ should get rid of him this next election.

Why wait?

Anybody from AZ know if there is a recall process for Senators?

“If the RINO party wants to survive, they need to excommunicate Juan and his acolyte Linsie.
Otherwise stick a fork in ‘em, they’re done.”

I remember I used to respect him back during the Clinton impeachment days. What happened? Linsie is a limp wristed RINO. http://www.ElectedImbeciles.com

I said it some time ago.

A lot of other did too.

John McCain is a viper every bit as dangerous as Colon Powell.

I voted for Sarah too. To me John McCain is the same as Obama, I just feel bad for Sarah that she wasted her time with this RINO trash

I'll take a slightly different tack.

As I have indicated earlier, I think that McCain, Graham and Lieberman will form a moderate coalition that will not rubber stamp the liberal agenda. They will develop enough moderate votes on both sides of the aisle to exert a powerful influence on anything they think really matters to them.

I do not support and have not supported McCain in this effort but it is clear to me this will be the way things go. The coalition will be a check on a purely liberal clean sweep

Would have been better if McLame had gotten elected because we can impeach him and get Sarah as Prez whereas if we impeach zer0, we get plugs.

I think what a LOT of people here said, was he was NO conservative. But he was a whole lot better than Obama.

If John McCain was inaugurated on Tuesday, he would not be stammering about being “President of the Constitution ... er....uh... US” in front of cameras and asking Castro’s lawyer what he just signed about the status of Gitmo.

If John McCain was inaugurated Tuesday he would not be moving at light speed to slaughter more innnocents in abortions around the world with US taxpayer money.

I’d like to think if McCain was inaugurated on Tuesday he would have made Sarah Palin his energy Czar and she would not be talking about stopping offshore drilling and other US oil exploration - again

If John McCain was inaugurated Tuesday his first call to a foreign leader would not have been to Fatah

“He needs to be primaried and fast. I hope J.D. Hayworth challenges him.”

EXCELLENT choice. He needs to be recruited hard (if he hasn’t expressed interest or intent. “NO” is not an option. Or how about that Sherrif who goes around arresting illegal aliens and detaining them in tents? Isn’t he in AZ? Love that guy.

WE SHOULD NEVER LET A MAN LIKE THIS BECOME OUR NOMINEE EVER AGAIN!

QFT.

Never again will I hold my nose and vote for a rhino simply because he's an (R) and is perceived to be slighly less horrible than the democrat.

I'm also quitting the Republican party. They'll have to earn my vote, and I WILL vote third-party now if they offer an ideologically more attractive option.

Ditto. I took time off from work to help that dirt bag.

No surprise, since the Republican party had three people with pretty much the same political positions as Barry at the front of the pack.

I sent an email to JD Hayworth today asking him to please run for McCain’s seat. I also emailed Cornyn and thanked him for standing up to McCain and told him that people in Arizona want McCain gone in 2010.
