The elementary school principal and CEO I referenced were both a**holes in retrospect.

The principal had major problems with both teachers (good ones, not typical ones) and parents. I knew where he lived, it wasn’t a well kept up house, not in a good location, more like something that should have been a rental unit. Maybe it was.

The CEO was head of a “beltway bandit” type contractor in the military and aerospace areas. The company didn’t make squat. One of the first things I did was raise a red flag about the rental cost of a laser jet printer being 100% of the cost/month from corporate HQ, normal rental is 10%/month for expensive electronic equipment. The company had already gotten in trouble with auditors for charging NYC rates for regular office areas like they were “raised computer floor” areas, a premium space, and it wasn’t even in NY.

DemonDeac?

Nahh, Duke is waaay better. Or North Carolina.

I'm just glad the Golden Gophers are still in the top 25.

Does Wake Forest even have any sports other than basketball?

Or even any academic subjects?

Cheers!

"Stan O’Neal and John Thain can rot in hell for all eternity."

Amen! These a**holes have no sense of responsibility to company or stockholders.

Even though good corporate stewardship requires them to be responsible, they run wild because it is all about them.

If they had the least amount of shame, they would step out of their office windows at about the 45th floor.

Ha!Good point! I wonder what they do with the rug that is replaced? The Bush rug is quite wonderful and I wonder if he gets to keep it or if it goes to the Smithsonian.

For that kind of money, you'd think the king would get a more *comfy* chair, wouldn't you?

I always wondered who spent this kind of money on these things. Now I know. A bunch of bankers buying this stuff with OPM.

My family owns a home fragrance business. I wonder if he can use some candles or potpourri?

When John Thain became Merrill Lynch’s CEO in early 2008, he hired Michael S. Smith Design to revamp his office suite, spending approximately $1.22 million according to documents.

This took place a year ago.

The good news is that Obama hired the same decorator to redo the White House. I bet the cost of that little project is more than $1.22 million dollars.
