Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread - Thursday 01/22/09
The EIB Network ^ | January 22, 2009 | Rush Limbaugh

AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, Maha-Rushie! America's anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do--that's host. Get ready to what you were born to do--that's listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

We love to hear Rush Limbaugh,
Excellence in Broadcasting.
From sea to shining sea,
Millions and millions listen.
Conservative voice of freedom,
Heard throughout all America.
A message pure and truthful,
The downhearted are encouraged.
Integrity and honesty his motto.
We love you, Rush.
Listen to Rush Limbaugh.
G-d Bless you, Rush Limbaugh.

RE: The Green Bay Teacher. From the blog of a Radio personality at Rush's Green Bay Affiliate:

1/20/09

4:01 PM, The "speech" Rush Limbaugh, etc...

Barack Obama was sworn in today as the 44th president of the United States. First, reaction to the speech. It's being reported President Obama wrote this himself (most of his speeches to this point have been penned by David Axelrod). I would argue both the writing and delivery were flat. Yes, there was talk of how hard-working Americans are what make America great. But Obama wasn't his usual oratorical self and it sounded more like a campaign speech than an inauguration speech. In fact, Obama still seems to be in campaign mode.

Rush Limbaugh: Rush chose to provide commentary during Obama's speech. I don't agree with that call. I also don't agree with the emails and calls I've received saying Rush's language was "offensive, hateful and bigoted."

Edison Middle School, I am told, used our station's audio for provide the speech to a student assembly of 1200. I am told Rush's comments made children cry, I was skeptical, and told the teacher who e-mailed me I found it hard to believe. Her response to my question was equally difficult to believe:

Dear Jerry, You have got to be kidding...Black African American students who have been waiting for hundreds of years to hear their strains for equality answered have only heard loud and clear the voice of a true bigot belittle this "DREAM"... in front of the world!

So, how exactly do middle-school aged children wait "hundreds of years" for anything? As I emailed her in response, this sounds a lot more like SHE was upset than her students were. By late afternoon it was pretty clear that the school was recruiting people to call and email. I, in fact, have let Premiere Radio Networks know I disagree with Rush's decision to do this. I do think it disrespected the office. The notion it was racists, offensive or hateful, I just don't see.

Obama Press Shop Off to Slow Start
Disorderly is an understatement to describe the White House press office, where phones are not working and staff names are misspelled on their office doors and desks.
By Major Garrett

Misspelled name cards, re-programmed phones, mounds of paperwork and general confusion ruled the day as President Obama’s press aides gamely navigated their first day on the job Wednesday.

Each found a standard sheet of white paper indicating their desk or office location. The tags had their names printed in black bold letters in the White House lower press office. Three press aides found their names misspelled, three found their names in order. The ones whose names were spelled correctly: Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton and two one of his top assistants, Josh Earnest and Nick Shapiro.

But others who speak for the president found glaring mistakes. Deputy Press Secretary Jen Psaki’s name was spelled Jan’ (she joked it read as Yan). Tommy Vietor’s name came out Tommy Yietor. And Ben LaBolt was transformed to Ben Lebolt.

Also, Burton found his phone had been reprogrammed since Tuesday and he was thus unable to call Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, whose office is located just feet away. For most of the morning, Burton could not make an out-going call of any kind.

The first incoming call he received arrived about 11 a.m. It was from Michelle Obama’s Press Secretary Katie McCormick Lelyveld. She was checking on whether the White House was confirming whether the Jonas Brothers had surprised first daughters Malia and Sasha at the completion of their White House scavenger hunt on inauguration night. The problem: that news had already gotten out.

Almost everyone in the press shop was without a computer login and some encountered delays trying to the enter the White House grounds. Things were so chaotic the first full schedule of the president’s activities didn’t come out until 12:05 p.m. And there was no briefing from Gibbs. That won’t happen until Thursday, by which time the phones, computers and the day’s schedule will be in order by sunrise instead of the lunch hour.

Remember that in time, Obama wants to establish a civil defense force and make them sworn police officers. When he does, inherent in their powers will be the right to torture American citizens. COUNT ON IT! I am of course waiting for the explosion from the ACLU, and liberal members of congress. This reference to law enforcement agencies needs to be loudly protested and removed. (crickets)
