In years past, FReepers have met up with friends at a little known monument on the ellipse. It is called the 2nd Division monument and it is between Constitution Ave and the Ellipse. This is what it looks like:

If you are standing at the rear of the Ellipse, facing the White House, with the Washington Monument to your rear, this small monument is to your left rear next on Constitution Ave.

You may want to meet at 12:00 Noon in front of this 2nd Division monument. (This is usually where the Connecticut and Massachusetts pro-life bus groups gather, but it is a quiet spot away from the crowd.)
Plus it is a good neutral ground for an ecumenical gathering of pro-life FReepers!

Bump!
Be careful, those nuts who want to expand the meaning of pro-life might show up and water down the important anti-abortion message.
My husband and I, along with two friends, will be at the March Thursday (today). I will do my best to meet y’all at the monument - but I am one of 4, and have to go with this crowd.
Anyway, I brought my white coat (Beverly B. Nuckols, MD, MA (Ethics)) and hope to be able to wear it. I’ll also have my Texas Alliance for Life baseball cap and my Feminists for Life “Women Deserve Better poster.
We went to the Vigil Mass tonight at the National Shrine. If you can imagine this Baptist woman there, in tears much of the time. (and then my tears from being so doggoned cold!)
John 17:21-26.
See y’all in the morning, I hope.
God bless all of you taking part in this. We are having a Candelight Vigil in front of Planned Parenthood tomorrow night.
The March’s rally point has been moved all the way up to the Mall at 4th St NW, which is 12 blocks away from the Ellipse. The March is really short now!
Prayers for you, Coleus. We’re having a few local events in protest of Holocaust Day.
thanks, can you find out a meeting place/location for next year?
Suggestion (if you want to promulgate it) is in front of the Air and Space Museum, since the March is shortened this year. There is a flagpole at the central entrance to that building that is fairly easy to see.
That’s really close to the rally point.
we’re here where are yo?
What happened? I would’ve thought it would be bigger than ever this year.
Me too. Just got back. Bumping for future reference.
It was a great gathering. It took nearly two hours for the marchers to make it out of the mall, past the corner at Constitution and (I think) 3rd street. Good going all!
I ran into Father Frank Pavone in my hotel and the Priests for Life will meet here tomorrow.
It’s a good day, a good thing that we all meet to pray for the sanctity of life.
(and I can’t wait to hear about the numbers of text messages that were sent as roll call!)
One of the women from the March just told me that one news report said there were 300,000.
I’d say at least that many.
