Once Zero’s crowd ushers in universal health care, we won’t need any private specialized hospitals.

The Christian church needs to step in and buy the place cheaply and fund it to operate as part of a mission fund.

And y’all know the big old Arabia Shrine Temple here in Houston, over on North Braeswood, is slated for demolition, yes?

Townhomes to be built on its site. Ugh.

That’s sad.

My son, who was born with part of his arm missing, went to the Shriners Hospital in Chicago for a number of years for treatment and prosthetics. They were wonderful people, and the Shriners never bothered us for money or donations.

I hate to see anything adverse happen to them.

When I was a tad, mom didn't have to work, and dad didn't make a lot of money, but we had a great family life.

Today, with four page telephone bills, taxes that defy the imagination, too many families have both parents working to pay the bills.

Now the family is different, and the husband has to come home and stay home, and all fraternal and too many civic organizations have paid the price.

Hella Shrine Temple in Dallas once had over 13,000 members and the count today is about 3,600.

I give what I can every year to the Shriners and also the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital.

Meanwhile, we need more Masons!
