ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is going on the offensive against news organizations and bloggers she says are perpetuating malicious gossip about her and her children. But political observers say the former Republican vice presidential candidate can't have it both ways: trotting out the children to showcase her family values, then trying to shield them from scrutiny.
Palin's criticism also raises questions about her motivations because she has said she is open to a presidential run in 2012.
"I think she's positioning herself. She's attacking the media as a way to generate support among a base she hopes will support her," said Leonard Steinhorn, a professor of communications at American University in Washington and an expert on the presidency.
Palin shied away from interviews during the campaign, although her children often accompanied her on her travels, including her oldest daughter, Bristol, who was pregnant at the time.
But in recent weeks, she has personally reached out to media outlets such as People magazine and The Associated Press to complain about information she claimed is wrong.

So they are trotting this out once again. Correct me if I’m wrong but as far as I know she has not commented on this in weeks. I think they believe they are making headway by portraying her as a whiner.
Obama takes the high road by asking the media not to attack politician’s families and then in the next breath the MSM takes the low road by attacking Sarah’s family. The MSM, Sarah, is not about to let up. They don’t want you to run in 2012. Please Sarah understand that the MSM is pure, unadulterated evil. If you run and I hope you do accept they will do what they do and meanwhile you do what you do, because what you do is excellent and how you deliver your message is exhiliarating and charismatic. I am in your corner but you are fighting a losing battle if you continue to fight the MSM.
But this particular smear artist doesn't have the guts to make her e-mail address available for feedback. I think that speaks volumes.
The MSM is the key. We MUST take it over to survive!
Oh, but no, they are like the sainted Amy Carter who attended all state dinners with a book to read. Now that was cute according to the press. And poor pretty delicate Chelsea Clinton was always kept away from the news. Don't you dare say anything about her, you evil press person you!
At least, we finally have a Democrat in the White House who has daughters that are actually relatively good looking.

I haven’t seen any press that somebody besides MO had Obammy’s babies. The press still inists that Palin’s daughter had the baby that Palin says is hers. Where’s all the cruel and mean-spirited cartoons and comments about the Obama children. Even the conservatives have been very kind and complimentary of these two little girls. They can’t help they were born to marxists and I haven’t seen where it’s been taken out on them, certainly not to the degree that Sarah Palin’s children have been abused by the press and liberal blogger butt heads.

well,she has taken the bait. Now we'll see if the MSM can hook her. I have a feeling she knows very well what she is doing. The GOP "handlers" didn't do anything to help her. Now the GOP had better do all they can to support her, or they will lose a great deal of the faithful
Well most newspaper are going out of business and nobody watches the evening news on the big three. The MSM is comitting suicide by their actions. We will survie, they won't.

Yeah there was an article stating something similar in the Washington Compost. It must be a new talking point. You know, the moron who didn’t know Africa was a continent is also an evil genius, that sort of thing.
