The U.S. Senate is preparing to vote on whether to approve Hillary Clinton as secretary of state, after several high-powered senators voiced their support for the former first-lady's swift confirmation.

Clinton's confirmation was delayed until Wednesday by a single senator, Texas Republican John Cornyn, who voiced concerns about foreign donations made to former President Bill Clinton's foundation.

But Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., said on the floor that he had talked to Cornyn and that Cornyn has no objections to a voice vote.

"We need to immediately, or as soon as possible ... move forward with the nomination," McCain said. He said two wars and a "fragile cease-fire" between Israel and Hamas make the installment of a new secretary of state imperative.

And, a choice nugget from the article:

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said President Obama needs a secretary of state "right now, this minute" to be an "advocate on the world stage."

"There's no better advocate than Hillary Clinton," Graham said. "I enthusiastically support her."

Looks like McQueeg is not acting alone.

People, people... the sooner this confirmation is over, the sooner Hillary is out of the Senate. I say let this one go and put a hold on the Holder and Geithner confirmations instead.

It all confirms in my mind that there really was no difference between McCain and Obama all along. Lindsey Graham is living proof that sometimes you should not vote Republican.

Ditto. They’re all a bunch of whores, the only difference is the price at which they can be bought.

This will make Hillary and Bill unimaginably rich and powerful. At least they could have tried blocking the door..instead to praise someone who is going to go out and trash our own country..while having a hand out for contributions..what have we come to?

The only difference between most of us here is when we figured that out -- some of us knew it years ago, and some are just waking up to just how badly they have been betrayed.

Of course to be fair, it means getting Hillary out of senate, can you blame them for not wanting to see her everyday.

“We” have enabled greedy, “career” politicians who label themselves as “dedicated public servants” who in reality use their positions to get FILTHY RICH and who could not make a living actually doing anything but “LAWMAKING” and betraying their constituencies who keep on voting them in no matter what.

Well I can’t deny that. Cornyn was supposed to be the one who was making a “strong principled stand” in this confirmation, and all it took was a little “talking-to” by head azz kisser McCain, for him to just suddenly cave. What in the world is going on? I really believe that the Congressional Republicans have made some deal with the devil, though I can’t see what they have to gain as a party, so it must be on the level of personal gain. This really leaves Christians and conservatives in the wilderness. Like it was planned.
