Globe Tabloid Shocker! Parent Same As Enquirer

American Media publishes the National Enquirer and Star. It was purchased in May for $850 million by David Pecker and Evercore Partners.

Tuesday’s acquisition of Globe, publisher of the Globe, the National Examiner and others, marks the beginning of the company’s expansion plans, said Austin Beutner of Evercore. “We expect to continue to aggressively pursue other opportunities to build AMI into a leading media company,” he said.

Did a google search and found an old article about Parent company of Enquirer buying the Globe. Don’t know the current status.
