Attempt was made to extort Travolta family

-------------- OCALA, FL - While John Travolta and Kelly Preston grieve the loss of their teenage son, Jett, reports have surfaced that at least two individuals in the Bahamas are being investigated by Bahamian police over an attempt to extort money from the family.

Details of the extortion plot have not been revealed, but a Bahamian newspaper, The Tribune, reported on Monday that police are questioning two people, “one believed to be a politician.”

well the kid had seizures every four days.. horrible ones.. and was on no medication for years...

if you look at the medical communities response you will find that is extremely dangerous...

not to mention.. Travolta had no one experienced in any medical care watching over Jett.. read one account from a Dr. that said he should have been in a Hospital if he was having Grand Mal seizures every four days.. so he could be put on IV medication until they were less frequent...

i Don’t know anything about the extortion.. but if you look at history of scientology.. you will find a policy of making accusations against people and lawsuits of any who oppose them..

perhaps this is a preemptive strike... I guess we will found out more as story goes on..

admitted that Jett suffered seizures as regularly as every four days.
But he insisted that the Travoltas had not ignored the problem and
Jett had been treated in the past with an anti-seizure medication,
Depakote.

He said medication had been stopped several years ago because it had
‘ceased to work’ and Kelly feared it might be damaging Jett’s liver.

The site you linked to does not give a link to their quote in that article... every other article says:

Jett took Depakote for "several years," but it eventually lost its effectiveness, according to Ossi and McDermott. They say the Travoltas were concerned about possible physical damage. And, Jett went back to having around one seizure a week. So John Travolta and Kelly Preston, after consulting neurosurgeons, stopped administering the drug. No one is suggesting withdrawal of the medicine in any way caused the fatal episode.

to me anyway.. it doesn’t even matter how long he took it.. he may have taken it for several years.. my problem is how long he was taking nothing.. and according to the Daily Mail he stopped Depakote several years ago..

I'm one of the folks who has a negative reaction to certain medications. I lost two babies to miscarriages, and when they gave me hormones to help stop the bleeding, it actually made it much worse and I ended up hospitalized both times. Any kind of hormone therapy always did the opposite of what it was supposed to for me; it's just the way God made me.

If the medication was no longer effective, what was the point in continuing to take it? The risks could far outweigh the benefits.
