Now Obama Debuts Pledge to Make Guns 'Childproof'

Surprising very few of us, we see that once in office, Obama is more open about his gun control efforts at WhiteHouse.gov:

Address Gun Violence in Cities: Obama and Biden would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent.

How, precisely, does the Obama Administration plan on "making guns in this country childproof"? Mandatory trigger locks?

Anyone who runs for office needs to sit in a supervised class and read the entire Constitution, word for word.

That is one Amendment I could live with.

Amen. We are no better than the Germans under Hitler if we just meekly succumb to these blatant attempts at incremental banning of guns. If our Second Amendment rights aren’t worth resistance, nothing is, and nothing else will be possible.

I'm going to design large gun shaped containers that are modeled after child proof prescription bottles.

How about a child proof cap for the end of the barrel.

Just another way of saying “Make guns unusable to anyone”. But, once again, only law abiding citizens would follow such laws while criminals won’t.

No thanks Barry. My guns are just fine. Now go feed your half brother living in the refrigerator box, buy your illegal alien aunt some dinner, or find a nice coloring book. Do something that won't start a civil war, OK?

Good boy.

Well if it passes that’ll make me one of the criminals.

I think that will make about 80,000,000 criminals.

Dumb move if they choose to make it.

Basically, all of the so called "assault weapons" could still be made, they just couldn't have a flash suppressor, bayonet lug, or adjustable stock.

You just described my "evil black rifle".
To Ø: Good luck getting it away from me.

Let's step back a bit here, shall we?

This has precisely NOTHING to do with "making guns in this country childproof", and everything to do with the first of many incremental steps to make gun purchase and use illegal, followed by confiscation.

Marxist Obama was, I suspect, LYING when during the campaign he spoke of "common sense" gun laws, when he perhaps more accurately meant banning and confiscation.

I predict that the first two planks in the Obama/Ayers Doctrine are...

1. demoralize and declaw our military, and...

2. work toward banning, and confiscating firearms.

.

Nice!!!!

I plan on picking up a couple of those this week. Next week I’m getting a PTR-91. I didn’t see the “assault weapons” ban coming last time. This time, I’m shopping before it they shut the door on us!

And yet, if we came up with a firearm “so safe a child can use it effectively” the Leftwingtards in Massachusetts would be cr*pping blue bricks.
