“Asking what Governor Palin has ‘expressed’ that is conservative is absurd”

Not at all absurd in the context of what I was saying.
The battle of ideas doesn’t get won on its own. We need people
to articulate conservative ideals and win people over to them.

“The Alaska governor’s whole adult life reflects individual initiative and self-reliance” - There are some hard-core libreals who have that ethic too. That doesnt make you politically conservative.

She was on stage with a bunch of southern gals singing and clapping to Gretchen Wilson's "I'm a Red Necked Woman" like she was kin. And this is her power: she is kin. Which is why she will be nothing more than a national joke outside of mullet-and-tattoo land unless she polishes her image and shows that she has intellect and competence. We are voting for President, not Corn Harvest Queen.

So I suppose you would have had her sing Puccini's "O Mio Caro Babbino" or Mozart's “Venite, Inginocchiatevi,” accompanied by a harpsichord, to get her into the good graces of the elitist community.

Leave populism to the 19th century. Downscale tattooed mullet heads are a MINORITY among voters.

We need intelligence, competance, and class. Not bumper sticker slogans and cornpone speeches.

She's in a league of her own. She's "one of a kind"

Sarah Palin is the "real deal". That's something that can't be defeated. That's WHY they hate her.

Yeah, the GOP needs to turn its leadership over to the elitist country club set--which gave us such big winners as Alf Landon, Wendell Willkie, Thomas Dewey, Gerald Ford, Bob Dole, and John McCain!

Sarah Palin will never pass muster with the sherry-and-harpsichord conservatives--the counterparts of the wine-and-cheese liberals.
