Q. How do you know the Obama inaugural speech was a bit of a flop?
A. When even an unreconstructed Obama fan like Eugene Robinson pans perhaps its key passage.
The Washington Post columnist participated in the post-inaugural kibitz session on MSNBC. Before moving to his remarks, letss consider the lineup the network chose for the segment: Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow, the aforementioned Robinson, and as cherry on top . . . Keith Olbermann. Now thats what I call fair-and-balanced coverage!
Olbermann suggested that a certain passage was the heart of the speech. Robinson agreed, but then proceeded to politely give it a thumbs-down . . .

"there is nothing so....................than giving our all to a difficult task."
Should we begin recognizing that this is undistilled Maoism?
When even an unreconstructed Obama fan like Eugene Robinson pans perhaps its key passage.....
Is this the same Eugene Robinson, former Atlanta Falcon, who received a citizens award from the NFL right before the Super Bowl and then was arrested not more than 12 hours later for soliciting a prostitute???
No doubt it will get worse, but that's later. Today we have a parade!
And to think the speech was to be etched in marble - ohhh, the humanity!
From what I have heard so far, this speech was 100% Obama’s. He didn’t want anyone else to get the “credit.” First official miscalculation.
True. But I do believe his supportors were looking for somthing more like:
You will no longer be responsible for your mortgages, your gasoline will be distributed to you free of charge, and all of your medical expenses will be covered in the upcoming socialized medical plan. All of this begins...tomorrow! (hold for applause)

LOL. From the first affirmative action president. I have no doubt that in 8 years there will be the first affirmative action Latino president, delivering the inaugural address in Spanish. Press 8 for a translation into English.
“Off topic: Are you still with newsbusters or out on your own?”
FinkelBlog is my new home on the web. I’ll be posting almost all my work there. However, I’m pleased to be remaining at NewsBusters as a Senior Contributor, and will be posting about one item a week there, which I’ll cross-post here at FR. Thanks for asking!
You're welcome. Good luck with your endeavor.

Several of us in the cafeteria at work listened (since the staff had turned up the volume to a deafening level) to the innvocation and some talking heads—and right about 11:59 got up and walked out. It wasn’t planned, we just have lives that need living.
