President Eisenhower warned us of the potential dangers of the military/industrial complex. I would warn about the Labor/Mafia complex. No where is that greater than in Chicago politics, the arena in which the Bright Star Barack Obama shot through at meteoric speed to the POTUS.
That is probably the most misquoted speech in history. Eisenhower warned us to be vigilant of undue influence, but he also said not to fear this industrial change as it was necessary to maintain peace. IE, he was saying this new industry (military/arms industry) is necessary for peace, but citizens should be vigilant to watch for influence. He was not warning us against the military/industrial complex in general terms.
