No one will say anything because she's black. The repercussions would be too great (and I say this as a colored gal myself).
Someone posted above re Michelle's outfit that you can't buy breeding. This is true. However, you can buy a stylist. With a some money and time finding the right designers for her body shape, Michelle could look a lot better than she does.
I'm a native Washingtonian who went to a girls' prep school back when women wore white gloves and you didn't wear slacks to go into town. No way would anyone I knew have worn a dress like that yellow monstrosity - with a jeweled neckline to boot! Aside from the fact that it was unattractive on her, it was too early in the day to wear that kind of outfit. A good stylist (or someone who grew up when these things mattered) would have told her that.
I know nothing about women’s clothing so it’s hard for to say “Yeah, her outfit is ugly” or “No, it looks great on her”.
I do know enough to say (to any woman) “No, you don’t look fat in that outfit.”
Having gotten that out of the way, I’m gonna withhold judgement until I see what Michelle’s wearing for tonight’s Inaugural balls.
I’m even surprised that her mom is wearing a casual knit hat and scarf. Black women usually dressed more elegantly...many still do. Did you notice the hat on Aretha Franklin? That’s what I expected from the new first lady and her family.

Well I hope it’s soon, but I doubt it. There are plenty of options for her body type, a straight shift or sheath is not one of them. I wonder if help’s been offered and she’s refusing it...maybe because no one’s told her how bad she looks in those styles she wears...perhaps as you said, because she’s black...and well, the POTUS’s wife now.
I’ve seen celebrity dress experts critique her...I’ve never heard them speak the truth. Probably all liberals.
