This is only a suggestion.

Why do we need to physically meet? We have the net we have all kinds of ways to communicate. It is just so much more convenient then flying over to see a much smaller group for a few minutes.

In games what we do is communicate through pop up messages using something like ICQ or Miranda which gives you multi different types of instant message capabilities. Then there is voice communication such as ventrilo or teamspeak for closer friends.
Then there is Skype that gives both IM and limited voice communication for free.

If you need to look at faces you can use different types of cameras either streaming or just a pic.

I think it's commitment.

If you care enough to physically go to a place, and take the time & effort ....it shows a genuine interest in being involved.

Plus there are things a person can do face to face rather than cyberspace.

Why do we need to physically meet?

Because it is too easy to sit in our comfortable chairs and speculate or debate about the condition of our country. Meeting face to face motivates us to put our feet/hands/minds to work "doing" something about it. Never misunderestimate the power of motivation and commitment. If oboyites can pledge to be servants to oboy, then surely we can pledge to be servants of God and Country.

Face to Face makes it better to judge the metal of a person. Besides I have met many Freepers on my trips and they are worth the trip for a handshake and fellowship. I have met many new friends that I have freeped with over the years, both in DC and in Crawford.

I picked Dallas because its the most accessible HUB and its in friendly Texas Territory
