During the 2004 U.S. Senate race in Illinois, candidate Barack Obama, in a quiet, reflective moment, pondered his emerging place in history.
But his campaign manager, Jim Cauley of Pikeville, was thinking of something else, trying to keep Obama focused on the battle at hand.
"We were together in the old State Capitol in Springfield, in the office of Abraham Lincoln, where Lincoln had been a lawmaker for the state of Illinois," said Cauley, "and Barack, an introspective guy, looked around for a few minutes without saying anything and then asked me, 'Jimmy, do you ever wonder what Lincoln would think about a black man being in this position?'

“Two Kentuckinas”. Can someone post a still of John Wayne and Oliver Norville Hardy?
Kentucky went for McCain big time.
The Kentuckers were talking about the juice. Is that the same as those jihadtards with their juice signs?
>>Kentucky went for McCain big time.<<
I’ve lived in Seattle since 1966.
I bought 13 acres in Kentucky just before the election.
Your comment is one of the reasons. Another is that I do not want to be anywhere NEAR an urban area when our economy and culture collapse.
Hope you stayed away from Louisville. It and Lexington are the most liberal cities here. We moved from Dearborn, MI to Louisville because my 87 yr old Mother is here. When we don’t have to worry about her anymore, we will head farther east.
I guess I just don’t get it because Hussein’s speaking and ideas seem like that of a naive high school student to me at best. There are people I know that think this guy is a messiah and automatically reject anything that is critical of him. Its truly insane.
I don’t think Lincoln would have wanted THAT ONE.
Central KY.
About an hour and a half south of Loovull.
Think Campbellsville, Lebanon, Perrysville area.
For someone who professed from the rooftops that he'd bring the races together, he thinks of himself as only 'black.'
In his teens, he totally turned his back on his white heritage...and from his books, one could easily assume he hates whites.
Just one time, though, when he was looking for a pup for his kids, he actually spoke a true sentence = a wonder he didn't get struck by lightning = he said "...a mongrel like me."
Now I don't know if he was referring to his racial mix or to his screwed up family ...
Myself, I'd put the mongrel tag on his family mix...but as to race, he's just as much white as he is black...whether he, and all the blacks, likes it or not.
and there is a missed opportunity to really bring some healing between the races...because HE, the "black" man, is a straight out racist.

oops - sorry ‘bout double post
Maybe KY education levels have changed, but Louisville used to be a three cylinder word. As in LOO UH VULL.
He is a mongrel race.
No matter where I lived in the past, I still call it Loo Ah Vull. You can’t change that. When I lived in Dearborn, I was told I had a terrible southern accent. When I lived in Dallas, I was told I had a northern accent. No matter where I was, the men always loved to hear me talk.
I am in The Peoples’ Republic Of Louisville.
When I make the pilgrimage back to PA, I lose the KY accent in a few days. So when I come back, I talk Amish.
