Not only am I not going to watch it, I am not sending my fifteen year old daughter to school. They are planning a two hour indoctrination and I refuse to have my child brainwashed.
I am also wearing black to work tomorrow and will be sending a note with my daughter on Wednesday telling them why she did not go to school; she will not be brainwashed.
I was going to say I had a date with my toilet, but Tabasco enema wins hands down!
We put up a black bow on our maple tree out front and took down the U.S. flag and replaced it with our state flag. It will go up on certain holidays but that’s it for the next four years.

Churches keep telling us that we should fast from TV for a while. Except for Glenn Beck and Hannity, I’m starting today, through Wednesday.
That Google search looks like it’s coming up with links that are going to watch it (I think I saw one that said they were not going to watch it; that was just from the first page, though).
I’m not going to watch it, but maybe later on, when things have gotten past all the hype about it, I may see part of it on C-Span (I think they keep these things on there for a month or more...).
I like to see things like this after the hype has settled down and people have more sense commenting on it. Usually, that takes a little while...

I couldn’t care less about watching the inauguration. I’ve only seen snippets of previous ones and this one is bound to be so loaded with pomp and circumstance, I can’t help but think it’s a spin-off of “American Idol.”
As for it being historical, aren’t all inaugurations historical? They’re all recorded in history books, unless there’s a president out there whose managed to fly completely under the radar and evade scrutiny. If I were a news editor and one of my journalists used the word “historical” to describe the event, I’d fire him/her for not being bright enough to come up with a valid adjective.

Though I don’t plan to watch the inauguration as the actual ceremony has never interested me, I will probably watch the highlights on the news. I know we have a lot to fix in this country and it will take more than one man to do it, but I am an optimist and I believe Obama will do a great job!
