Actually it took two years from the time the Democrats took over Congress in 2006, plus about a decade of enforcing the CRA on banks begun by Clinton, and Bush's appointment of Democrats and RINOs - like Paulson and Cox to positions of power over the economy.
I've always been an optimist. I'm finding that very difficult to do right now.
An interesting comment. What is it that you are proposing? All the Democrat politicians will resign in shame? The American people will demand a special election and throw them out? (We don't have Vote of Confidence in the US, like parliamentary political systems have).
I'm curious how you think that can happen.

Actually, and for sure, more than four years — so it should mean that a lot of people will be mad at Obama by that time and ready to kick him out of office... :-)
This is not just the most corrupt regime ever voted into office, they are also the most inept ~ and he hasn't even taken the oath of office.

I'm afraid that some of us Conservatives are missing the point. Obie didn't promise US anything. He knows that the folks, to whom he made the promises, did believe him. And he plans to deliver on those promises - by taking stuff away from US.
Democrats have publicly stated that they plan to confiscate our IRA’s and 401k’s, etc. Now, let's see - who has self-funded retirement plans? Ghetto folks or Freepers? Who bought houses that they couldn't afford, and will be bailed out by the Federal Gov’t? Ghetto folks or Freepers?
Military Retirees have been told that their health care costs are going to increase astronomically, while Obie's followers will get free health care.

Those who were stuck in East Germany during the Soviet era and are now living in the U.S. will recognize their past returning very soon.
