Thousands were descending on the National Mall in Washington on Sunday afternoon, hours before a free inaugural concert boasting big stars.
It is President-elect Barack Obama's first full day back in the nation's capital. He spent the morning visiting Arlington National Cemetery and will later attend the "We are One: Opening Inaugural Celebration" at the Lincoln Memorial featuring performances by Beyonce, Sheryl Crow, John Legend, Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, U2, will.i.am and Stevie Wonder.
Tears rolled down one woman's face as Obama spoke. "We love you, Obama!" someone yelled out.
"I love you back," Obama answered calmly, eliciting a roar from the crowd.
"You know the country is in the middle of a honeymoon when 6 in 10 Republicans have a positive view of Obama," said CNN Polling Director Keating Holland.

There are thousands of politicians, Democrat of Republican at the state or federal level, who have accomplished far more in their careers. Unbelievable.

Gonna say, most of my students “know” these “stars,” but would never go to their concerts. This is for the people who became adults in the 1980s.
