As of today, Israeli voters can consult an Election Compass to help make up their minds in the run-up to next month's parliamentary elections. The website was placed by Amsterdam's Free University.
The world's first election guide - an online internet test which gives participants an indication of where there sympathies lie in comparison to the position of the various parties - was developed in the Netherlands in 1989.
In recent years, versions of the election guide have been exported to other countries, including the United States. The Israel Election Compass is in Hebrew, English and Dutch. Israeli voters will choose a new 120-member Knesset on 10 February.

Fun and interesting. My results place me close to National Unity...
I’ll be darned if I can figure out where I stand with their “compass.”
For “Security” I scored: Habait Hayehudi - Mafdal
For Socioeconomic, I scored: Kadima
For Religion, I scored: Israel Beiteinu
But this really doesn’t make any sense... Regarding religion, I only agreed with Israel Beiteinu 60% of the time, while I agreed with Kadima on religious issues 70% of the time.
Looking at the numbers of the 3 groups it says I agreed with, here’s what I got:
Habait Hayehudi - Mafdal
Security: 83%
Socio-economic: 48%
Religion: 45%
Kadima
Security: 63%
Socio-economic: 73%
Religion: 70%
Israel Beiteinu
Security: 88%
Socio-economic: 75%
Religion: 60%
That was certainly interesting. I don’t really know that much about the various parties in Israel; like when it started to ask my opinions about the main politicians I just put down ‘no opinion’ for all of them.
Mine -
Security: Mafdal
Socioeconomic: The Greens.
Religion: National Unity.
