A Week without Conservatives

h/t to FReeper Morgana for this idea.

Does anyone here remember "A Day Without Homosexuals"?

Of course not, because nobody missed them.

The Obamalefties think that they can just take us for granted. Think that we will just continue producing stuff and allowing them to take it and distribute it anyway they like.

Let us choose a week and simply stop producing for that week.

We need to decide on a week over summer. If you can't afford to take that week off, then simply do what the French do - a "greve de zele" (work slow-down, which is pretty funny since they can't actually work any slower than they already do).

Don't pay your bills for a week.

Don't go to work for a week (or see above if you can't afford it).

Don't buy anything for a week.

Don't fly a plane, operate a nuclear plant, enforce the law, harvest food, repair a car, design a computer chip, treat a patient, sell a house, arrange a mortgage or any of the thousands of other things that we do that gliberals take us for granted for.

Stop.

We're on strike!

“We’re on strike!”

It’s a good idea and I’m all for it. Count me in.

I believe a woman by the name of Ayn Rand wrote a little novel about just such a strike.

It’s entitled “Atlas Shrugged.”

Why? I almost submitted an abuse complaint against myself just to find out why. The Admin Mod can FReepmail me with some reasons and I’ll stop.

Isn’t this sort of what John Galt, et al., did in Atlas Shrugged?

Canada on strike!
Canada on Strike!
Canada!
Canada!
Canada!
Canada!
Canada on strike!
Canada says “no more!”
No more neglect! We want respect! That’s what we’re striking for!
All you bureaucrats and corporate cats can all just take a hike!
It’s Canada on strike!

Canada on strike!
From Vancouver to St. John’s,
We raise our middle fingers up for you all to sit upon!
And with our fingers up your ass you won’t be very psyched!
It’s Canada on strike!

And we will not bow or budge.
Our resolve is strong.
We even took three hours to rehearse this striking song!

Canada on strike!
No matter where you are!
If you are Canadian, than you’ve got do your part!
March out from the halls!
That’s right, suck my Canadian balls!
It’s Canada on strike!
It’s Canada on Strike!
It’s Canada on Strike!
It’s Canada
On Strike!

Monday, June 29, 2009 to Sunday, July 5, 2009.

Kids should be out of school, and we culminate with a big demonstration on Saturday, July 4th.

Buy enough food to stock up, little by little to tide you over.

No Starbucks or McDonald’s. No purchases. No sales.

When the NYPD Union Mafia wanted a raise, they used to call a “blue flu” week. Do the same. If you can’t take a vacation, call in sick.

It’s not going to work. Conservatives take their jobs seriously. Symbolic activism is something liberals like, but the rest of us have real lives and real jobs where slowing down costs us a lot of money.

Me too. But they’d notice if all of us self-employed conservatives stopped working at the same time.

Here’s the problem. Lefties LIKE organizing and doing things together. We conservatives tend to want to be left alone. Which is why we are on the brink of having a Socialist government. Just this once, we need to come together (just briefly - I’m not gonna crash on your couch!) to show the leftards that they need us, but we don’t need them.

Most conservatives I know own their own business and can’t afford to goof off like that.

More money than Obama is going to cost you?

Yes, we work and we work hard. But you wouldn’t work if someone took all the value that you created. That’s what the government is now doing.

Stop working for the government and start working for yourself.

Plant a garden, fix up your house, wrench on your car. Do some work that no one can take from you. Just for a week.

But you can afford to work harder to pay the extra taxes that are coming your way? For what?

Are those taxes benefiting you? Or are they making your life MORE difficult. You work hard so that some elitist leftie can slap more regulations on you.

Go ahead, but I say “enough”.

How about a week of straight facts coming from the MSM on Obama, no agendas, no bs, and see how that works.

Sure. You and other activists can rationalize it, but the vast majority of conservatives don’t do things like take a week off of work to make a point. They don’t. You can argue all you want about what a good idea it is, but 90% of normal people aren’t avid followers of everything in the news the way we are.

Besides, if you knew what I do you wouldn’t want me to take a day off.

Heck, I have been on strike since November 5th. Other than food and the necessities (gas, utilities) I have purchased Zero just for Zero. After all, he told us we must stop consuming so I’m sacrificing and it IS Zero’s fault. Usually I am rather generous consumer but I will not be for the next four years. : )

The point might be make better, by refusing to spend money for a week.

Don’t buy Starbucks. Don’t buy a newspaper. Don’t spend money on anything except doing your job for a week.

Might even trick liberals into trying to portray, refusal to spend ones own money as “unpatriotic”.

Not a bad discussion to start IMHO.
