Done. If Bush doesn’t pardon them / commute their sentences, and Obama DOES, Bush will have a permanent stain on his record. Bush, wise up, and do the right thing.
To: Turret Gunner A20
Mr. President give that pardon, and tear down that conviction !!!!!

The Rat commie fifth column has in store for Bush and the GOP what he allowed to happen to Ramos and Compean.

I’m confused ( as usual ) WHAT THE HELL IS BUSH WAITING FOR???
To: deannadurbin
It will never happen. These brave men are left to rot in prison, while Bush rides off into the sunset.

If Bush doesnt pardon them / commute their sentences, and Obama DOES, Bush will have a permanent stain on his record. It would be a brilliant move on the part of 0bama.
The GOP would be screwed for three of four more elections.

I believe they got a mandatory ten year sentence because they were carrying a firearm. Border patrol agents carrying guns? Go figure.
To: Turret Gunner A20
Bush has a stubborn streak and he is on one for this. He will let it slide with the cliche “the courts gave their verdict”.

The agents should have received a promotion, not jail. Johnny Sutton must be feeling the heat.

A prime example of the stupidity of sentencing guidelines. All cases are different.
Also, Jurors (all Americans) need to educate themselves of our rights as jurors so we can regain control of the courts. After all, the 1895 Supreme court didn’t rule that jurors “need not be told” of their rights out of the goodness of their hearts.

IMO he should not only pardon them , but give them a medal , and back pay and retirement.

I can’t remember where I read about this but it seems it was the first time that law was used against law enforcement. The judge should be blamed for misusing that law.
To: upsdriver
Wouldn’t it be a kick (and a slap) if 0bama pardoned them next week?

Both of you are 100% correct...if Obama pardons Ramos and Compean....it will be bad news for the GOP, and Bush can forget about any positive legacy...
And knowing liberals...if Obama pardons them...you will hear the chorus of “Bush/GOP hates Hispanics...wrongfully jailed the two Hispanic BP Agents”
The only reason now for Bush not to pardon the two...well, maybe he has a little Mexican money headed his way...
