More lasts today
This morning President & Mrs. Bush departed the White House for Camp David, Maryland, where they will spend their last weekend as the First Couple before Tuesdays inauguration.
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice gave her final press conference today at the State Department in Washington. She also met with Israels Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni. Dr. Rices last official act as Secretary of State was signing a memorandum with Foreign Minister Livni that will help prevent arms smuggling to terrorists in Gaza.
And today Press Secretary Dana Perino delivered the Administrations final press briefing (Transcript). Dana took time to pay tribute to her predecessor Tony Snow and to all the members of the White House press staff. But one name was conspicuously absent from her remarks.
Q Dana, you mentioned Ari and Tony, but I don't think I heard you mention Scott. Was that a slight or was that -- was anything deliberate --Dana: No harm meant, I just didn't mention him.
What did you think of his comments [on MSNBC] last night?
Dana: I didn't bother watching them.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island
Thank you very much :)
Double-Amen!
I so appreciate you saying that :) It’s been my pleasure.
He’s one of my favorites. I’m a fan of NC Wyeth too.
I'm glad you'll be able to go to Midland. You and LUV take as many photos as you can!
Same here. People take those qualities for granted (including many on the Right).
So do I.
It's probably no coincidence that Condi's last guest at the State Dept. is the Israeli foreign minister, and that her last act as Sec. of State was to sign a memorandum designed to help protect Israel from the Hamas thugs in Gaza.
Beautifully said.
*blush* :)
Your thanks says more than enough. You're very welcome, Tom.
I hope you're doing well.
Thank you very much for saying that. It means more than I can say.
I agree, it does seem like he's choosing his words. But the feeling I get is that he's telling us that whatever zero does or doesn't do in the next two to four years, America is strong enough to surivive it.
LOL!! The horn-rimmed glasses are HOT! :-p
I still have the Dose tonight--I'll probably just tack an update to this thread. And then that will be it for me :o
Freedom! :)
You’re welcome, Bray :)
Keeping us safe for all these years is Mission Accomplished
Ain't that the truth.
I ran out of breakfast-like food a few days ago. I just had Trader Joe's french onion soup for breakfast. LOL
LOL!
Could I interest you in some Michellina's Meatloaf? Or a can of Chunky's Roadhouse Chili? Maybe a stray bag of microwave popcorn?
Yeah, my cupboard's getting pretty bare too :)
Hey- don't make fun of my glasses! ;-)

Okay, I thought I was done posting for today, but I was in the shower and on the radio there was an ad for some local Chicago dem AND one of the labor unions is having an inugeration party at a club Tuesday morning. No doubt the union members will be paid for attending.
I was too enraged to hear who the dem or union was, but I did hear it's at the Excalibur. I thought that was sort of funny, because the Excalibur is right in the middle of touristville by the Rock 'n Roll McDonald's and Hard Rock Cafe. Locals avoid that area, if at all possible.
Dana is a class act and with the exception of Scott McC. Bush has been surrounded by classy people. They show respect for the office of the President.
