Not all of ‘em are. My husband and I teach 8th grade faith formation at our parish—Confirmation prep. Some of the parents are definitely CINOs, but the overwhelming majority of the parents are very involved in their faith. It shows in the kids.
Happy to hear that you have an active parish community. Unfortunatly, most people who identify as “Catholic” in surveys are of the cafeteria variety, regardless of ethnicity. Of course, this will change once the boomers come to pass (the boomers being the last generation raised at a time when “religious affiliation”, as opposed to devotion, was a cultural must).
