Millions of workers at small businesses across the country will take time Tuesday to watch Barack Obama be sworn in as president -- and will do so with their bosses' blessings.
Many companies will allow workers to take a break to watch the swearing-in on TVs or their computers, while others are making rooms available so staffers can gather. Still others are planning celebrations to mark a historic event, and some owners are giving staffers the day off.
At BlissPR, a New York-based public relations agency, many employees will be in the conference room watching Obama's inauguration on TV. Abby Barr, the firm's managing director, said the company recognizes the historical significance of the day, and that "in moments like this, people want to be in a community."
BlissPR isn't doing anything to mark the day other than making the TV available, in part because there's still work to be done. Also, the company is aware that not everyone might be an Obama supporter.
"That was our strategy, to welcome people but not obligate anyone" to take part, Barr said.
Flashpoint PR, a San Francisco-based PR firm, will hold an inauguration party in its media lounge.
"We decided it's very important for us," said Kristin Greene, a principal with the company.

What? There are white supremacist racists at a New York public relations firm? How can one not support "The One" and look at him/her self in the mirror each morning?

I wonder if anyone will bring up discrimination law suits of equal time not being given when GWB was sworn in. If they did not supply time at work when he was sworn in and if possibly some employees were disciplined for trying to watch it on their pc’s that is a clear case of discrimination Chaching.

I think I'll tune in to a sci-fi channel — it's more realistic than the silly worshipping.

The AP found two companies in lefty ratholes that will tune into the obamination ceremony. So what does AP write?
“Millions of workers at small businesses across the country will take time Tuesday to watch Barack Obama be sworn in as president — and will do so with their bosses’ blessings.”
Talk about extrapolating an anthill into holy hyperbole....AP can go chew itself.

I live in Jacksonville, NC, home of Camp Lejeune MCB, which, IMO, is one of the most patriotic towns in America. I have worked at the local community college for over 25 years which encompasses quite a few inaugurations. This is the first time that I remember the college going to special lengths to provide access to TVs in classrooms for viewing the inauguration.
This is being sponsored by the History and Social Sciences Departments, not the Administration, but anything like this would have to have been cleared with the Executive VP of the college. I know the inauguration of the first African-American is an historic occasion, but, IMO, every inauguration is worthy of the same attention. You can believe that had McCain or some other Republican won the election, this would not be taking place. The TVs in the Student Center would be available as they always are, but classroom TVs would not.

inauguration of the first African-American is an historic occasion It will be if one ever gets elected.
Actually it makes me sad that President-Elect Unicorn is taking away the credit that would be due to the first descendent of black slaves to reach that office.
Oh well, pass the popcorn...

What a farce.
So much for 300 years of slavery.
That is now irrelevant
Dumb whites and dumbs of all kinds and colors made him President

I'll be at work Tuesday. We have a television in our office. If they put the inauguration on that television, I'll go home sick. I will not watch the communist get installed in office.

I dunno. My company let everyone come to the conference room to watch the first OJ verdict. This administration has a mega potential crime factor. I think the more boobs that watch it will be better in the long run when he finally goes down so they can wallow in their disenfranchisement of the “dream”.
To: 2ndDivisionVet
I know I won’t be watching, but I’m wanting find out who does leave the office for the inauguration of “der Fuhrer.”
