By KARL ROVE On Tuesday, America can take pride in a special transfer of power as Barack Obama becomes the first African-American to be sworn in as president. Shortly after the ceremony, the new president's aides will slip away to inspect the offices they now inhabit. They've put much of their lives on hold to take jobs that will last, for most, two or three years. Hours will be long, pressure unrelenting, decisions momentous, and families often neglected. Every American should respect their sacrifices...

I don’t agree. He is going to have his ass kissed for 4 to 8 years.
I totally agree. The drive-bys will go to bat for this guy no matter what he does or what is found out about his past from now until doomsday (which may not be too far off).
Our ranking as a "source of news" is climbing.
So it's come to this.
And he hasn't even started yet.
Oh, the honeymoon with his worshippers in the media will go on for a very long time afterwards, Karl. There might be gentile disagreements from time to time, but for the most part the press will be all over Zero like a horney teenager at a drive-in movie.
Bill Clinton is still “respected.”
Jimmy Carter is “esteemed.”
FDR is a god.
The Media will cover for Obama forever. He’s their baby. The One.
Obama is “too big to fail.”
From your lips to God's ear.
Soros has been quiet of late. I trust he wasn't an investor with BMIS, but I wonder if he's felt the ripples at all.
Not if John McCain and the GOP has anything to say about it. They're going to help Obama as much as they can.
In his case, that should be Halfrican-American.
ping for later
(The Honeymoon won’t last long)
If by “long” you mean “more than 8 years” you are correct.
The new President is surrounded by people who do not like the country that elected him. They have put up with it until now only because they were convinced that sooner or later they would be in a position to change America to fit their ideas of what a country should be.
That time has come for them. And to make matters worse they have the MSM firmly behind them.
Abraham Lincoln said it well in 1838, over 150 years ago, when addressing an Illinois gathering of young men:
“At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it? Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the Ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Bonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years.
At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.”
I fear it has sprung up amongst us. And the very people who for so many years helped keep it from getting a foothold in our country have now been very instrumental in bringing it to fruition.
God help us, literally.
Nope, the East gets the Statue of Liberty, and all the lawyers. We get the farms, guns, and nuclear plants. We'll build a new statue of liberty (it will be nuclear, mobile, and have guns):
I also disagree. The media/Obama Admin/Rat Congress will get away with blaming Bush and Republicans for every problem under the sun for atleast his first term as they push ever expanding Gov’t programs and spending as the solution. That will give him and Rats/Socialists plenty of time to lay the groundwork for permanent Rat control of all three branches of Gov’t and permanently weaken our military. Hello one world UN socialism. The USA as we have known it is over unless Americans open their eyes pretty dang quickly to what the Rat/media/Socialist/Obama tyrants have planned. Americans must vote a strong conservative majority to Congress in 2010 or reap what they’ve sown and it won’t be pretty.
