That’s a tough statement to argue with. But, just out of curiosity, it’d be interesting to know your definition of compassion.

I must say that is a good point. Compassion could be different for many individuals.
I would say empathy but one could have empathy even in cruel behavior. Personally, I feel for those who can't help themselves and despise any form of cruel suffering. I just don't believe in killing indiscriminately.
