President-elect Barack Obama spent Tuesday evening at a dinner party with several prominent conservative columnists, including William Kristol and David Brooks of The New York Times, according to a pool report.
Mr. Obama, who has been staying at the Hay-Adams Hotel in Washington, arrived just after 6:30 p.m. at an address in Chevy Chase, Md., that is listed in property tax records as the home of George F. Will, the conservative Washington Post columnist.
Another columnist at the party was Charles Krauthammer, also of The Post. Some of the guests have been among Mr. Obama’s severest critics.
Since arriving in Washington more than a week ago, Mr. Obama’s outings have included trips to his transition headquarters, Capitol Hill, the White House, and a surprise jaunt to Ben’s Chili Bowl, a popular late-night eatery. (The president-elect visited on Saturday afternoon, far earlier than the usual U Street revelers.)
Tuesday’s dinner party with conservative columnists added another dimension to the fevered discussion about Mr. Obama’s movements.
In filing his pool report, Kenneth Bazinet of the New York Daily News wrote: “This is for real, folks. The bloggers are going to love this.”

Is Obama bi-partisan?
I’m just not interested in this game.
Great point. Those so called conservatives mentioned are not even true conservatives as they are the liberal in conservative clothing types. No wonder these faux conservatives are so chummy with Obama whom they share a number of political positions.
Can’t help but wonder if Rush was there. He was in DC today.
Hmmmmmmmm...maybe Obama is a stealth conservative candidate. We should start posting such at DU and watch heads explode....lol...just for fun.
NO...Rush was at an awards ceremony for Blair, Howard, and someone else....at the Whitehouse.

The bi-partisanship of many was described exactly in the original Roosevelt innauguration
Don’t think Rush was at this dinner - he seemed to be in DC for the awards ceremonies.
Zerofuhrer is the picture of BIPartisan ... Rush’s definition.
BiPartisan... Agrees with Liberal.
As for the rest of the story:
1. Gotta fight allowing the NY SLIMES to Define Conservative.
2. Coming from the NY SLIMES I have to have at least 2 more Corroborating sources, before I’ll believe it. Yes one of those sources CAN BE the INQUIRER ... LOL!
Seriously....this is just a plain outright lie by the MSM, again.
There’s something about using the words Chili, fevered, and movements all in the same story that gives it a certain gastronomic twist...
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer?
A gaggle of neocons and a NYT token does not a conservative group make.
Although interestingly enough, we'll see more and more neocons attaching themselves to Obama. A few that saw the direction the winds were blowing have already made the switch (Hitchens), more will follow. May they drive the Code Pinkos crazy (I mean crazier they already are).
That didn’t take long. And that list [except, perhaps, Krauthammer] is ‘inside the beltway’, not ‘Conservative’.
Krystal and his cabal always go where the power winds blow. They always have and always will. I love him when the winds are blowing our way..but despise his spinal deficients when they don’t. He is a suck up to what-ever powers that be. Right now..it’s Obama.
I’m not surprised the others would go, but Krauthammer that kind of made me gag. He’s always been pretty good.
I would hope not on one level..but on another level...I hope he was there as a true conservative representative.
Guess we will find out tomorrow.

Haven’t they gone out of business yet?
