"A source of mine called to say that Obama's reached out to some newspaper publishers about giving papers a tax break in the stimulus package."

"Obama pays off his base: The media."

Chip Saltsman's best moment in the RNC Chairman debate last Monday was describing our current policy shift, in which winners and losers are set by the market, to a world where winners and losers are set by President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and Majority Leader Reid.

The newspapers have enraged their conservative readers, who are cancelling their subscriptions in droves. Instead, the newspapers pander to the liberals, but the liberals are either too poor or too lazy to buy a newspaper.

This is the model of the Corporate State -- the government helps and protects certain favored industries and businesses, and in return those businessmen help and protect the government. Bailing out the financial industry wins many rich friends. Bailing out the auto industry wins strong union support. Bailing out media outlets wins favorable press coverage. It's a win-win for those who make it to the inner circle.

For more on the economics of the Corporate State, do research on Mussolini, Hitler, or Fascism. That's where it comes from.

will it [the bailout] apply to talk radio?

Sure, as long as we're talking about Air America.

If true, about the only people who haven’t gotten a bailout are those of us that pay taxes.

He can bail them out, but he can’t make us read them.

Good money after bad...They’ll take his payola, burn through it and still be facing the same problems they are facing now..only worse. They are a waste of money. Their business model and practices *suck*....Mostly their practices. They are an untrustworthy lot, and more of their customer base realities this on a daily basis. They are LIARS. Not a good thing when you need people to believe what you say, if you want them to buy your product.
