If the Mayans were correct, that is nominally the time when our solar system crosses the galactic plane. We'll all get to see what happens. It could be a very exciting Winter solstice.

Supposedly as it nears us, this body will become visible to the naked eye by this summer (2009)- just in time for the release of Hollywood's newest disaster film “2012” Now, conspiracy theorist or not- if there is any factual basis to this- it will be unavoidable to acknowledge it - soon.
