The effects of any caldera eruption would range from "very unpleasant" to "catastrophic", depending on its size. We're talking about a geologic event which is beyond human experience. A minimum-sized eruption of this beast would kill millions, not just from the immediate fallout but also from economic and climate disruptions which would lead to severe famines in large parts of the globe.
It really is nothing to make light of.
