God bless you, Pres. Bush.

You kept your charge, you kept us safe, against all odds, for 7+ years.

GOOD RIDDANCE, MR. PRESIDENT.

4,000 DIED ON YOUR WATCH ON OUR SOIL & YOU DID NOT DO A G.D. THING ABOUT IT EXCEPT ASSERT WE NEED MORE INVADERS.

GET LOST. B.S. He "kept us safe". Ask the families of the dead.

-from life long conservative, probably registered to vote Republican longer that "W" himself....

I agree. We have been safe for years, even though we were certain we would be hit again as every OTHER country was hit time after time. He and our brave military and the good people who are the line between us and barbarians have held strong.

I really don't know what this country is going to do without having President Bush to blame for all things bad in their lives.

Good bye President Bush. You may not have been the best on every issue but you certainly were better then Gore or Kerry.

I thank you sir for your service.

He did some liberal things I didn’t like, but for the most part, he was a good conservative president and gave us some great Supreme Court justices. Give him a B.

No, I wonder if the prison will let the former border patrol agents out to watch their chief executive?

*sigh* History will be the ultimate judge of his presidency. For all the hatred, scorn, and taunting this man has put up with for 8 years he’s earned his hopefully peaceful and long retirement. I hope we get the communication we should’ve gotten from him throughout his tenure.

The issues like amnesty, prescription meds, education, bailouts, and “compassionate conservatism” have lowered his stature in my view, but the man kept us safe ever since 9/11.

Unfortunately for him, we many never know whats kinds of plots or even how many his policies foiled but because he has been strong for the troops and stuck to his guns about security issues I believe history will judge him fairly.

See ya, Geo. Won’t miss you at all. At least the incoming President (for whom you’ve insisted upon serving as Ballwasher-in-Chief) makes no bones about his liberal roots. You were an embarrassment, and set the conservative cause back two generations, at least.

Thanks for the reminder. I will be certain NOT to watch. The last GWB speech I watched was the dreadful state of the union globalist speech on Jan. 20, 2005.

“Perino said the speech will be the last scheduled public event for Bush as president until he appears on the North Portico to greet Obama on Inauguration Day, which is Jan. 20.”

This makes me want to weep.

That'll be Friday morning (my off day) here, so I can watch it live.

And I fully intend to do just that.

God bless Mr. President, and fair sailing into your twilight years!

It’s a shame there are some who feel the one issue he failed on (and yes he did fail on Immigration) is the only thing worth mentioning about his presidency.

He kept us safe.

He ended funding for abortions (as much as he could with his executive powers).

He initiated tax cuts that will now be reversed by the Obamanation.

I would vote for him *again* in a primary and a general election, even knowing how he performed now, compared to the lot we had in this last primary/general cycle. None of them (except for Sara Palin) had the charisma, class, guts, leadership, and quite frankly, proven conservative credentials he does/did. None of the Bush-bashers can convince me differently.

IMO, *they* are the ones who should STFU all the way back to DU/Daily KOS/MoveOn.org . It amazes me how similar their posts are to those on the dung heaps previously mentioned. Never did I think that I’d see a “chimp” post on FR, and I have previously (don’t know about this thread in particular, but I’ve seen such on FR before, during the height of the Immigration flack).

Politics makes strange bedfellows I guess. That, and the concept of “pragmatism” seems to be a rare commodity on the Internet.

Well, FR is supposedly a conservative forum. W is not a conservative. Nor was he raised by one. We were wishful thinking if we thought the Establishment Man’s son would be a conservative. He fought a good war. So did FDR. We’re still paying for his big government “solutions”. Our offspring will be paying for W’s big government “solutions” for a long time. If Obama tried to nationalize the banks immediately after innauguration, the same folks defending Bush would be screaming about it.

Look, he fought a good war. He did a lot of other good things. He is not, nor has he ever been a conservative. What the hell’s wrong with “conservatives” who won’t see how he’s set this whole thing up for B. Hussein? Handing a country over to a Frank Marshall Davis mentored, Cloward-Piven taught, Alinskyite communist (this is not exaggerated) regime with a nationalized financial system, diminished currency, and wide open borders. I’m starting to think my New World Order conspiracy theorist FRiends aren’t as quirky as I once did. He kept us safe...how safe do you feel now? Defend him all you want, just don’t epect to be cosidered a conservative.

I say God Bless you, George Bush, also, STARWISE; I couldn’t agree with you more. I’m sure the sour people making all these nasty comments about our President are jumping for joy, anticipating what Obama is going to do to our country—they can’t wait. I don’t even want to begin to think about the class-less remarks that had to be deleted.

I don’t waste my time reading about Obama and certainly wouldn’t waste my time on a website praising him. We sure have a bunch of cranky children aboard; tantrums are best ignored.
