Are there any brave Freepers out there planning on risking their intelligence and sanity by watching "The Triumph of the Will" (aka the Obama Inauguration)?

I WILL read his words because one does need to remain informed.

I will inform myself by reading FReeper's researched aspects of his speech, who have more guts than I do.

REMEMBER: The "President's Band" (the USMC band) will be playing honors for him. I CANNOT watch such and I know that our Marines will do their duty but I can't watch, just can't...I feel myself getting ill just thinking about it.

I will be at work, supporting all those government freeloaders. I don’t wish them ill, but it would be preferable if they’d simply take their little oath of office (which they won’t observe anyway) and get to work doing something (anything).

I’m sure I can wait for them to start up with that, but I certainly cannot risk any further sanityloss.

I’ll be ignoring the whole thing.

The Triumph of the Will analogy is very interesting given the nature of BHO kool aid drinking followers.

Another analogy might be the 1963 movie Cleopatra starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. Recall Elizabeth Taylor’s extravagant entrance into Caesar’s Rome? That’s how I picture BHO going down Pennsylvania avenue.

Time-Lies-Warner-Turner will be filling that role with exclusive coverage of the Obama inauguration on their HBO channel (they bought special access, seems to be to be an ethics charge in the making).

He was probably turned in by a citizen reading the forum rather than the FBI.

You remember the Titanic? That’s how I picture Barry Soetoro going down on Larry Sinclair.

It isn't over, don't concede the issues.

Pelosi’s Congress (with a Democrat majority) had a 9 percent approval rating.

They still must vote on their agenda. They still must have it signed.

While the Republican party holds a minority role in our government, it does not have to remain silent. And those moderate Democrats who were voted in back in 2006 still have to protect their seats. They aren't Republicans but they aren't proud Socialists either and can be pressed to defend the legislation they are voting for.

Even in 1993 when the Democrats held the House, Senate, and White House, they still felt the need to run political ads outside of an election year to push for socialized medicine. And when the people of America got wind of what it meant, they spoke up.

Don't concede Obama’s issues. Even he is busy back pedaling on his promises already.

You were on those threads offering sympathy while the Freeper in question was being interrogated by the Secret Service at his home. I remember the questions you kept suggesting he ask the agents, like why the two of them didn’t ride bicycles like the other black-suited Mormons. Also, you told him that if asked, he had never met you.:D Everybody kept watching the time, how long he was being interrogated.....those were the days.

The Secret Service folks have a wild hair about I-95 South in Virginia. They were out checking buildings that overlook the highway as far away from DC as Woodbridge VA.

They keep a lot of their more heavy duty equipment down at Quantico so it's possible they are simply checking things to make sure nothing unusual has happened/will happen that might make passage to DC in case of an emergency difficult.

Although the earliest news indicated the 14th street bridge would be closed to ALL traffic, they now intend to permit pedestrians and will allocate a full highway lane for that purpose. I believe automobiles will be prohibited from like 4AM to 4PM ~ they announcements have changed the closure times enough I doubt they really know.

We are getting far greater than normal helicopter traffic in the corridor and I've heard a couple of fighter jets tuning up ~ kind of like after 9/11.

If the American system goes down the drain, it is an intentional plummet from those within the government who want a Socialist system of change.

I have my suspicions about the 2008 economic turns. Soros has been known to bust economies before. Too many connected Democrats involved in the Fannie Mae thing. The way America was sold on nationalizing industries was through “economic disaster”.

I don’t see “socialism” as the means to “recovering” from “disaster”. I see a manufactured state of affairs as an excuse to force us into these “solutions”. Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

I smell a rat as well. Everything seemed perfectly timed. McCain was actually leading BHO in the polls until the caca hit the fan on the mortgage meltdown crisis in late September.

Then we learn Barney Fwank’s ex boyfriend served as an executive at Fannie, which Fwank has oversight as Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee. Talk about a conflict of interest!

And yes, I wouldn’t be surprised if Soros was behind the whole damned thing. To paraphrase a line from The Godfather: BHO is a pimp. He could have never outfought McCain. What I didn’t know until this day was this it was Soros all along.

It’s been raised a number of times by different people but again it is worth repeating. Any violence would be a bad thing for America. Beyond the criminal aspect (it is WRONG), it also introduces a factor of chaos and anarchy into our nation. It gives the Left opportunity to demonize the Right (justly or unjustly) and makes a martyr of the victim.

We’ve already seen how history has been rewritten to suggest that JFK was really a saint and was planning to end the Vietnam war. No one has any unanswered questions about how Jimmy Carter “would have” ended his first (and only) term as president.

I want Obama, Biden, et al to outlive their elected terms to office. Exposed as inept, inexperienced, unqualified, the media complict in their 2008 PR scam, and unsuccessful in implementing socialized medicine and other policies that are wrong for America. I just hope they don’t screw up things too badly and that our nation does not suffer as a result.

Next time it will be “reductio ad daemon malum”. There, is that better, Amicus Obamae?

Soros didn’t force McCain to blow his campaign by backing the bailout. Perhaps he just had the measure of the man and calculated correctly.

Absolutely not. The wife and I are scrambling to record all the other programs we can find. Anything ... Animal Channel, History Channel, Law & Order re-runs, Cartoon Network ... ANYTHING so we’ll have a bank of other programming to keep us occupied.

I’ll check here once or twice during the day in case any breaking news appears.

Between the fawning of the press and the deliberate neglect shown to all of Zero’s sins by the rest of the U.S. government, this is going to be a horrid spectacle indeed.
