WASHINGTON: President George W. Bush deflected a secret request by Israel last year for specialized bunker-busting bombs it wanted for an attack on Iran's main nuclear complex and told the Israelis that he had authorized new covert action intended to sabotage Iran's suspected effort to develop nuclear weapons, according to senior American and foreign officials.

White House officials never conclusively determined whether Israel had decided to go ahead with the strike...

Obama will now have to deal with the Israel attack on Iran.

I predict an Obama in full appeasement mode.

May the NYT and all its treasonous commies rot in hell. And that is a kinder, and more gentle, fitting end to these sewer scum.

Dunno which is worse... GW turning Israel down ... or the SLIMES SCREAMING it from page 1.

Both pretty Pathetic ... especially with Hussein Chamberlain waiting in the wings.

I never believe these kinds of stories anymore. The WH has declined comment and we don’t know what the real story is.

I remember a couple years ago hearing Rush say something to the effect that W would NOT leave
office with Iran nuclear capable.

He KNEW this for a fact.

Shrub thinks HISTORY will paint him in a more favorable color than we.
He will occupy a place right next to Mr. Peanut, where he belongs.

Another huge mistake in “strategery” by Bush.
He could have pre-emptively saved thousands of lives by helping Israel take out the Iranian nukes. Now he can live with whatever happens, knowing he could have helped.

I also am very disappointed that Bush did not take our homeland security seriously enough to secure our borders. A deliberate error in “strategery” probably due to his love for all things mexican, like cheap labor etc.

Bush mistake #3,,,the reaching out to dems to be pals strategery. That was really stupid. That one got us Obama.

Farewell President Bush. You are a vastly better man than your replacement can ever be.

PS-Free Ramos and Compean!!!

This is a bald face lie. Merely a trial balloon designed to measure any outrage or fallout from the possible cooperation of the US with Israel.

IHT is a rag that operates as a polling service. IHT should beware because they are headed for DEBKA status if they don't shut up.

All we have is Mr. Sanger’s word that he cobbled this article together from a number of anonymous sources.

And, by the way, he has a book coming out tomorrow. What a coincidence!

“Sanger takes readers into the White House Situation Room to reveal how Washington penetrated Tehran’s nuclear secrets, leading President Bush, in his last year, to secretly step up covert actions in a desperate effort to delay an Iranian bomb.” http://www.randomhouse.ca/catalog/display.pperl?isbn=9780307407924
