Thanks for the post.

I know the area well. From 1972 to 1985 I traveled Southern NM and South Eastern AZ.

Lived in Silver City, NM most of that time.

Have been to Columbus, and was in Deming every weak from mid-year 1972 until December 1985.

Ranchers in the West U.S. are wonderful people. They are like the old timers in Texas. They just want to be left along to live in peace.

A few years ago I made a trip back there, and could not believe the border patrol presence in the area South and West of Lordsburg, on the way to Douglas.

Then you can remember when the kids from Palomas came over every day to go to school in Columbus and Deming. When the fire departments from each community helped fight fires in the other. When Deming gave thie old fire truck to Palomas when they got a new one. My, my how times have changed.
