Then you can remember when the kids from Palomas came over every day to go to school in Columbus and Deming. When the fire departments from each community helped fight fires in the other. When Deming gave thie old fire truck to Palomas when they got a new one. My, my how times have changed.

Yes, life was simpler then. My family was young, I worked long hours, and life was pleasant.

I enjoyed the technical community in NM. Had lots of friends that worked in the Labs there.

We enjoyed our years in NM. But I was very much out of place politically in Silver City. I was well accepted, but noticeably out of place. Serve a couple of years as a city councilman, and some wanted me to run for mayor. I resisted that.
