The line to buy a gun on this morning was long, if you take into account the time, the date and location, which was a Wheat Ridge shop barely larger than my living room.
Used to be few folks bought guns this soon after Christmas, the shop's owner, Rich Wyatt, is saying as we sat in the large overstuffed chairs in the middle of the room. Those who did, he adds, for sure didn't go about it only a few ticks after 10 on any morning.
The old man in the cardigan was standing first at the glass counter, almost caressing a brushed nickel .45, from which hung a $1,045 price tag. Last I saw him, he was picking out ammo.
"This is nothing!" a beaming Rich Wyatt said, gesturing at the three men at his counter. "Two weeks ago Saturday, I set an all-time sales record. And when I reopened the next Tuesday, I doubled that Saturday record. Doubled it! I couldn't have ever imagined it."
The reason, of course, is President-elect Barack Obama, or, more precisely, what some people across the country fully expect his administration will do: restrict access to firearms and ammunition.

Gun porn. ;-)
Almost brings a tear to my eye. Warms my heart to see the Americans who understand, and believe in, the Constitution getting prepared for the darkness ahead.

This isn’t about gun bans.
It’s fear about a man who has deep communist roots and connections. That’s why they’re buying the guns.
My SKS which I bought years ago for $99 is worth about $400 now and that’s with the wood furniture, much more with the folding nylon stock
I’m going to a HUGE gun and knife show tomorrow and I’m ready to lay down some bucks! Happily and Securily!
It’s crazy out there with gun sales.
I was at a local gun shop. The dealer said he built 20 AR15s, all with quality DPMS parts and put them all out on the shelves at one time. He said they were all gone within 3 days. He said ammo sales has also been crazy.
If our leftist federal government doesn’t move on gun control, AND there are no heavily publicized shootings in the coming months, I believe things will settle down some and get back to normal.
No matter what happens, I plan on finishing out my collection of tactical weapons sooner rather than later. I’m still in the market for a couple of AR type rifles, and a PTR-91.

It is the only way to send a message to a stone deaf government!
LOL! I have not been to a gun show in a while. When I go to a gun show it is the guys that really concentrate on knives that creep me out.
I need to buy some more ammo and possibly a new piece ASAP.
I feel the same way you do. I just hope that most of those guys are Special Forces, on leave.

Today's trend is toward pistols that are compact in design and light in weight, yet have all the features that the law enforcement professional is seeking.
System Identical with the Full Size Models The P99 Compact has the same highly advanced design features of the full size P99, but in a size that is designed for concealed carry. Just like the full size version, the compact P99 is available with the same trigger variations inclucing the QA and AS. The frame backstraps are interchangable so that the pistol will fit in a wide variety of hand sizes. The pistol will not snag in clothing when it is drawn, thanks to rounded edges. The hammerless striker system and safety devices integral to the P99 are also standard in the P99 Compact.
All the compact versions are delivered, as standard equipment, with a flat-bottom magazine butt plate and a finger rest magazine butt plate. The frame is molded with a Weaver-style rail to accept lights and lasers.
The new P99 compact is the ideal compliment to the P99 full size line of pistols. Perfect for concealed carry or as a backup weapon for law enforcement.

I have been looking at rifles on DSA rifles web site for a few years.
One guy on FR said their production was sold out for a few years post 9/11 because SPEC OPS guys bought up all the production. I would love to know. He does FAN FL clones and Austrian STG 58’s - all big .308 battle rifles with usually 20 round clips.
