LOS ANGELES -- A man who showed up at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday with a container of handguns, rifles and loaded ammunition magazines in his pickup truck was arrested, an airport official said.
Los Angeles Airport Police officers stopped the Chevy Silverado at 10:49 a.m. at a checkpoint on westbound Century Boulevard at Sepulveda Boulevard, one of the main entrances into the passenger terminal area, said Nancy Suey Castles of Los Angeles World Airports.
You don't understand. Nobody should have control of 37 guns, except the government. What would the government need with guns?
In other words, not anywhere near the LAX, its traffic circle, the parking lots, or the runways.
The "suspect" wasn't on the airport grounds or any threat to anyone other than being a gun owner.
You seem to right in tune with the Obama regime.
Thirty-seven? What was he hunting, a small country?
I’ve been looking for updates on this topic tonight, they’ve been hard to come by.
It appears that the checkpoint was set up on the road leading to the airport. Century blvd (the cross street of the checkpoint) turns into Worldway. Worldway is the airport road for LAX. The search took place .2 miles at the intersection right before leading into LAX. So, it was probably the best place to set up a checkpoint since traffic was already at a stop. According to the map, it looks like it’s at the entrance of the airport.
Click on the news report. Final count is 10 handguns and 5 rifles and an antique musket. 16 total. Cops miscounted and reporters misreported.
Last month here in San Francisco, multiple times I dropped off and picked up relatives at busy SFO in my pickup truck with tonneau cover, no checking or looks from cops. Probably is going to change now.
37 times??? :-)
Yes; we're forced into it, so we don;'t get set upon by The Illiterati who never learned how to read and recognize more than the literal sense of anything more complex than Beavis and Butthead dialog.
That's why, when, and if ever, they visit the library. they must ask the librarian where the Satire Section is located.
Over react by the press at least.

What? 16 guns is counted up as 37? These guys could make a lot more money counting beans for the government handouts.
I think the translation could be with your guns..
LOL.

Maybe it was that “Sheik of Araby” guy?

Let them quibble. Now lets the rest of us meet up in a half hour back at the bat cave. It’s Friday night! Woo-hoo! We get to order pizza, clean guns, and watch hockey on the bat tube! woo-hoo!
Sheesh, what century is that guy living in.
You dont take weaponry like that into an area where they are stopping cars for security checks, an area leading into major domestic and international air transportation hub in this day and age.
The guy told the cops up front that he had the weapons in the back of the truck.
It turns out he was the legal owner of all of them.
It’s good he was upfront about it. Had one of the guns not been loaded, he probably wouldn’t have received such a serious charge. Just glad it turned out to be a ‘mistake’ instead of bad intentions.
You mean “trying to avoid insane Egyptian shooting up El-Al counter”, don’t you?
You haven't a clue what you're talking about.
They put up the check points where there are no other exits, exiting away from LAX. Once you are at this point, there is no turning around. Why do you think they put these check points where they do?
Where this shot is taken is between the freaking runways, W/B Century x Sepulveda, almost into World Way north. There are no other exits at this point, only one way, W/B into the port.
