Obama said he’s good to go, so there you go. Move along, nothing to see here.

Those Senate seats are valuable. Do you think they just give them away? Come on, get with the program —> Change you can hope to believe in.

As long as you're black and have lots of money.

From your link:

“’No money’? Numbers say differently

But Burris assured us “there was certainly no pay to play involved because I don’t have no money.”

Poor Roland Burris. Turned away (so far) by the Senate, picked on by the press and no money to boot. It’s good that being a U.S. senator pays a salary of $169,300.

Of course, when he becomes a senator, Burris will have to give up the $70,000 in compensation he’s been taking home every year just for serving on the board of directors of Inland Real Estate Corp.

Then again, he will continue to collect his $118,000 annual pension from the State of Illinois. That’s right, 118,000 smackers, more than he made as attorney general, thanks to the state’s taxpayer-supported pension plan.

I’m afraid he’ll have to give up whatever six-figure retainer he’s been collecting as a lawyer with the Milwaukee law firm of Gonzalez Saggio & Harlan, which has enjoyed a big bump in its Illinois bond counsel work since Burris came aboard in 2007 as a rainmaker for government business. But surely this will create more opportunities than ever for his son, Roland II, as is traditional for U.S. senators.

At least Burris won’t have to hustle any more business for his lobbying firm, Burris & Lebed Consulting, which a few years back was even trying to help the Ho-Chunk Nation slip a casino into Hoffman Estates. “

Burris being a political supporter of Blago is not a crime, and these people all pay each other off with jobs, business with the government, etc. This is all the legal pay to play in which there are no quid pro quos but everyone takes care of everyone else in the game.

Our whole political system is corrupt (meaning impure) I hear very few people talk about it.

In my town and county all the dems employ each other in different towns, the solicitors and architects and engineering firms that are hired employ the politicians’ wives. A guy will be mayor in one town, public defender in another, his wife will be the prosecutor, in the next town he’s the solicitor, in my town his wife is representing clients before the various planning boards, etc. In the schools the teachers and staff need to contribute and support the party.

This is rampant. The government is their private piggy bank.

Roland Burris and Rep. Bobby Rush (speaking)
at a Chicago news conference announcing
Gov. Rod Blagojevich's appointment of
Burris to the U.S. Senate Dec. 30, 2008.
CBS
________________________________________________________

From David Horowitz's FrontPageMag.com/DiscoverTheNetworks.org:
PROFILE: BOBBY RUSH:

* Democratic Member of Congress

* Member of the radical Progressive Caucus

* In 1968, went AWOL from the U.S. Army

* Co-founder of the Illinois branch of the Black Panther Party

* In 1969, served six months in jail for an illegal weapons conviction

* Advocates reparations for African Americans

"Bobby Rush has described his involvement with the Black Panthers as part of his maturation process, as a youthful indiscretion that he abandoned immediately after Hampton's death. He described his role mostly as running the Black Panther Party's Free Breakfast for Children program.

But Bobby Rush served six months in jail for a 1969 illegal weapons conviction and, even after his release, in 1971 his comrades were still describing him as the 'Deputy Minister of Defense' for the Black Panther Party in Illinois. In 1992 the socialist magazine In These Times praised fledgling congressional candidate Rush, writing that he 'has continued to support progressive policies and has never disavowed his Panther past...."

From the article: REVOLUTIONARY HEROES

"On May 1st, May Day [1969], the day of the gigantic Free Huey rally, two of Alioto's top executioners vamped on the brothers from the Brown Community who were attending to their own affairs. These brothers, who are endowed with the revolutionary spirit of the Black Panther Party defended themselves from the racist pig gestapo.

Pig Joseph Brodnik received his just reward with a big hole in the chest. Pig Paul McGoran got his in the mouth which was not quite enough to off him.

The revolutionary brothers escaped the huge swarm of pigs with dogs, mace, tanks and helicopters, proving once again that "the spirit of the people is greater than the man's technology."

To these brothers the revolutionary people of racist America want to say, by your revolutionary deed you are heroes, and that you are always welcome to our camp."

It would not be the first time Reid was in on a “questionable deal” ! THIS IS A MUST READ!!!!!

Is this what Obama was holding over Reid’s head?

http://www.captainsquartersblog.com/mt/archives/008266.php

October 11, 2006
Harry Reid And The Culture Of Corruption
Once again, we discover why the Democrats quietly dropped their “culture of corruption” theme for the upcoming midterms. The AP catches Harry Reid without a disclosure on real-estate deals that netted him $700,000 in profit:...”

“...UPDATE: This story provides an answer to a question I had regarding Reid’s dealings with Whittemore. The earlier story showed that Whittemore benefited Reid’s kids and his election campaigns, but Reid worked awfully hard for Whittemore’s benefit for no direct personal payoff. This land-swap deal and the $700,000 profit shows that Reid had a direct financial interest for his earlier interventions on Whittemore’s behalf...”

I thought one Roland burris wife was buried at the "tombstone" monument? Maybe the name is just pre-engraved?

The left eating their own again.

Headline should read;

“Democrat Party Having Dysfunctional Meltdown”

or;

“Is this the End of the Democrat Party?”

Burris said he handled the state’s money like his own. Appaerntly, he handles his own so badly that he’s broke in spite of the nice salary and pension he and his wife get.

“Everybody smile and say, `Money,’ “

(no links)

AGENCIES RECEIVE UNEXPECTED CASH
Pantagraph, The (Bloomington, IL) - Friday, June 17, 1994
Author: STEVE ARNEY

Roland Burris , Illinois attorney general and the bearer of many nasty surprises such as lawsuits, enjoys pleasant surprises, too.

He convened an impromptu reception at Catholic Social Services in Bloomington Thursday to hand out three unexpected checks totaling $25,000.

Accepting checks were representatives from Women’s Counseling and Support Services ($10,000), BroMenn Home Health Care ($10,000) and John M. Scott Health Resource Center ($5,000).

“Everybody smile and say, `Money,’ “ Burris said as cameras clicked.

Then he was off to Champaign to distribute four more checks totaling $50,000.

CHRISTMAS MONEY IN JUNE FROM SANTA ROLAND BURRIS
Pantagraph, The (Bloomington, IL) - Thursday, June 23, 1994
Author: bw

Editorial

EXCERPT

The money given to the Bloomington-Normal groups last week came from the status change of Personal Care HMO in Champaign-Urbana in late 1988 or early 1989, according to the attorney general’s office. The HMO had to pay $400,000 plus interest in eight annual installments.

Where the money comes from is important, Burris’ office said, because they try to earmark the money to similar charitable groups in the same region. In this instance, they reviewed the annual registrations required of charitable groups and looked for health-care related charities in Central Illinois, Burris’ office said.

Burris has handed out these funds since he became attorney general, but his office didn’t have a breakdown of amounts or recipients immediately available.

Handing out checks has to be pleasurable, and Burris doesn’t get many such jobs.

It’s hard to say anything bad about $25,000 going to three worthwhile area charities, but we think the law allowing such disbursements at the discretion of any single office holder ought to be examined.

“If that is true, Obama, Reid and all the Democrats have knowingly supported a ‘pay-to-play’ crook. Hmmm . . .”

BUT lest you forget....they didn’t support him before they supported him....on the way to unsupporting him before being forced by the congressional black caucus into supporting him after they unsupported him.....

They (Democrats) are all guilty of one or more of the seven deadly sins.

Pride
Envy
Wrath/Anger
Sloth/Laziness
Avarice/Greed
Gluttony
Lust

The Counterparts:
Humility
Love
Kindness
Zeal
Generosity
Faith & Temperance
Self-Control

Non-Democrat Liberals are not without guilt, but at least most Non-Democrats' character includes more of the second list than the first.
